what exactly does a computer do when you defragment it? i've heard it'll run faster that way, but how...?

Spot on with the defrag description, but I would say that the cause of most 'slow' PCs is excess processes and programs hogging all of the processing power and RAM. People for some reason tend to think that a computer gets significantly slower as it ages, which in nearly completely untrue. It's just that over time people load it up with junk programs and what not, fail to perform basic maintenance, and then blame the computer. It's like complaining that your car doesn't run like it used to if you never change the oil and let the tires go flat.all HDD are slow though, lol. people most of the time think its there pc but its usually not
