This code makes it so that a certain song plays while on the CSS
Code:
CSS Music Selector v1.0 [Dantarion]
C2078E28 00000004

[COLOR=SandyBrown]XXXX[/COLOR] = 4 Digit Song ID
When trying to give each character their own victory theme....this happened.
Code:

Note that every character already has a unique ID.
The game loads the same theme for the different ID's.
A different code will have to come to load NEW songs or each character.

A workaround for now is to change them to songs you dont use, and put the victory themes you want on those songs.

For exampe, if you want "Do the Mario" to play when Mario wins, change his theme ID to something that doesn't ever play normally, like "Tournament Grid". Then, replace whatever file Tournament Grid is on your SD card. TADA! DO THE MARIO.

The Custom Victory Theme code MAY conflict with other codes.
I need someone to report it working with Brawl+, Brawl-, etc.

Appendix A: Song ID's
I had a better song ID list. That old list has a few mistakes and doesn't document all the valid IDs.

Code:
*List polished by Amazing Ampharos but originally constructed for the most part by others.
Found attached to a music modification code by Heinermann.

Tracks labeled as [NAMELESS] crash My Music and have no title when loaded in battle.
Notes about the tracks will be included in {}; these are descriptions of what the tracks are like.
"Historic" names of nameless tracks will be in quotation marks.

286B: {"get item" noise (one of them...)}

Values outside of this range produce what I believe to be an invalid track (not even an empty name caption pops up).
All similarly named victory themes sound exactly identical;
the character correlation is only speculation based on the similarity of the structure of the victory music with the character listings combined with the general redundancy of the victory music.
Do note there is a victory music "missing" for Wolf; he must share either Fox's for Falco's though it's unclear if more than one of each type is even used in general.

Its interesting to note that it seems like they WERE going to do character specific themes. They even have unique song ID's for the characters.

Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Peach share a theme, but each of them have a seperate Victory Theme ID.

I would spend some effort trying to get the themes to load up different filenames, but I think I would run into an issue where if the files weren't on SD, the game would just freeze, since it can't load the file from disc.

If they have seperate ID's, then we could edit right from Ninty's hands and make their own seperate victory themes! Mario has do the Mario, Bowser has his NES castle song, Peach has the title from Super princess peach, and Luigi has a scream!

wow, this looks great, i would've expected you to have to create new ID's, since i originally thought that some characters shared them. i assume that all this does is change the pointer right (referencing to the CVT code)?

also, what would go wrong if the files aren't on the disc? as an informative, i know absolutely nothing about the File patch/replacement code, or at least how it works.

So, this basically assigns the specific character's current victory song ID to another song which in turn can be anything you want while keeping the current victory song intact for the rest of the characters in that franchise.

Awesome, I'll have to give this a shot at some point.

The ID's in the code are DEFAULT.

The characters DONT share ID's by default. Some of the default ID's point to the same files however.

Values outside of this range produce what I believe to be an invalid track (not even an empty name caption pops up).
All similarly named victory themes sound exactly identical;
the character correlation is only speculation based on the similarity of the structure of the victory music with the character listings combined with the general redundancy of the victory music.
Do note there is a victory music "missing" for Wolf; he must share either Fox's for Falco's though it's unclear if more than one of each type is even used in general.

Has potential. I await the day when you can code the victory themes to use the missing/unused brstm IDs in conjuction with the file patch code like
Z09 - Luigi
Z12 - Bowser
Z13 - Peach
Z14 - Zelda
Z15 - Sheik
Z19 - Ganondorf
Z20 - Falco
....etc

Something along those lines.

Hey, can you do me a favor?

Those MISSING ID's just don't play any music, right?

If you could copy all the missing ID's into a list, that would be great.
Also, all of the non-stage music in another list.

Perhaps I don't need to add new ID's at all, I just need to harness the power of the unused/noonecares.

So..... this lets you have custom victory songs? Is that the main point? I'm guessing that I'm missing something here, what's it's main purpose/use?

v

So, this basically assigns the specific character's current victory song ID to another song which in turn can be anything you want while keeping the current victory song intact for the rest of the characters in that franchise.

Awesome, I'll have to give this a shot at some point.
The ID's in the code are DEFAULT.

The characters DONT share ID's by default. Some of the default ID's point to the same files however.
The IDs in the code in the OP are the defaults. What you do is change the appropriate ID matching the character to another song ID in the list provided by Slashy and Ampharos. To make this actually effective, replace the referred song with the victory theme of your choice.
Or, at least that's what I think you do.

I read your post, but I still don't understand the purpose of this. Is it to play a certain song on stages or something? Or.... well I'm just completely lost, I have no idea what the use for this is, someone care to elaborate a little more?

I read your post, but I still don't understand the purpose of this. Is it to play a certain song on stages or something? Or.... well I'm just completely lost, I have no idea what the use for this is, someone care to elaborate a little more?
It's for victory themes. You know how, for example, Ness and Lucas both play the same song when they win a match? You can change Ness's song to something different while Lucas still plays the default song.

So yeah...
ZSS(Samus)
Luigi, Bowser,Peach(Mario)
Zelda,Shiek,Ganon,Toon Link(Link)
Falco, Wolf(Fox)
Lucas(Ness)
Lucario,Ivy,Char,Squirt,Jiggs(Pikachu)
D3(Kirby)

The characters not in parens need their own themes.....and theres JUST enough ID's on that list!

There goes my Idea.
I tried to use music modifier to play one of the silent songs and it's still silent.
I tried to use the Brstm IDs S01, S12, and S13, to play over 27E2(MAINTHEME) and it's still silent.

Its supposed to still be slient.
The point is, I can attempt to make those ID's load up new songs from SD, and default back to the silence if the file isn't found.

Dant, that would be amazing. Also, could it be possible to make the unused songs load as different songs?

I think that's the idea he's going for.
I'd recommend making them read BRSTM IDs from the Z section to avoid confusion. Best of luck to you.

Someone should make a pack of victory themes for those characters that match their games. Lucas with a Mother 3 song shortened (I'd suggest from the Mother 3i or Mother 3+ albums, so we won't have lower quality GBA sound coming out of our TV speakers), Toon Link with a Wind Waker song....etc. :D

Even though I have no wii, I made some brstm's(converted to be politically correct) for Zelda, Ganon, and Bowser. If I still had the Mother 3+/i soundtracks I would make something for Lucas too. Though I don't see much from Mother3+ specifically fitting him...

Good luck with the code, Dant! You never dissapoint.

Yeah, me neither now that I think about it. Maybe it'd be easiest to grab Ness's Melee victory theme and put it over Ness, and just give Lucas the "Mother series" victory theme from Brawl?

Ok, tried swapping Mario's victory with the tournament thing. Worked successfully! Yesterday when I switched it with assorted subspace songs, it did not work, however.
