Okay...so I follow the CSP guide on kitty corp, and every thing goes perfectly, except when I load the CSPs I made on the sd card, the look like this

WTF?!

Anyone know why my CSPs fried like my brain on drugs?!

Also, I just noticed that there are no "help" or "FAQ" threads here, not very noob-friendly

What the.. O_o;
Well, I've never seen something like this...
I'm just guessing this, but are you sure the CSPs are 128x160 big?

Also, the reason there aren't any help/FAQs about how to make textures/CSPs, is because this isn't a (sub)forum solely for texture hacking. There are other sites (there's a list of them in a stickied topic) that go more in-depth about all that. ;)

Also, when i try to make a CSP of a character that is mostly black or white (or thats just what i`ve noticed) CUPASH gives me this "character#_big.tga has erroneus colors" or something like that. Anyone know what the heck that means?

Edit: sorry for double post :/

Kitty Corp/Meowmix has always screwed up thier CSP guide.
Here's how to, easily, using paint.net and gimp
1. Take snapshot
2. Use CUPash to find CSP you wish to replace
3. Make screenshot have a transparent bg in paint.net. It's easy, to get transparency use the eraser tool.
4. Open csp you wish to replace in paint.net
5. Fit the new image to be the size of that image, than copy/pasta it onto the csp you wish to replace.
6. Save the csp
7. Index it in gimp
9. Save the indexed csp
10. re-insert using CUPash

There. :D

After using almost exactly this method, Brawl crashes right before the character select screen. Are there specific nonos I should keep in mind? I'm using BrawlBox instead of CUPash for insertion and gimp for indexing. It should still work fine though, right?

It's best to post your images so we can see what may have gone wrong.

Gee thanks for bumping this.

Cornballer told me to index em at 72 colors.
I exported the original CSPs and bought them back in, and they read as 200+ colors.
however this froze on me probably because one of them can't do over 200, was too lazy to find out who, otherwise i would have some pretty nice looking CSPs

Hmm. That might be my problem, as I was just importing them and having BrawlBox automatically take care of them. This usually resulted in them being 240 colors or something, though.

Also: It seems to me that the original Nintendo portraits are more than 200 colors anyway. How did they get away with this, provided we can't?

Alphatron: Would you like me to post each portrait individually, or would the common file be good enough?

i recently downloaded a pack of CSPs and the screen shots of them were totally fine. but when i put them in they still have the magenta/pinkish background, so the transparency failed. is there anyway to fix this besides re editing all the CSPs?
