Maaaaan, I told myself to watch the stream last night. I even had it open before it started and then I just closed it and forgot about it. Great stuff though. I really look forward to seeing you and Nintendude place highly at some more majors.

Okay finally got around to watching some vids

Thanks, m3t. You've always been super helpful. I've seen people talk about playing reactively and watching your opponent, and I've tried it out before, but never stuck with it for some reason. So far I've successfully included most of the things I've wanted to add to my gameplay, so I don't see why I shouldn't be able to do that. I'll start working on it. I'll try to watch your videos and give some comments, but you're probably better than me and I don't have much good experience in those matchups so I can't guarantee it'll be helpful.

M3t, I watched your video against the Lucas and I saw some things you could be doing better. You seem to like to come down on him with dairs a lot, which is a good idea sometimes, but it often gets you punished. There's a few ways I try to use this move safely. The best way imo is to wait as long as possible, basically until you're right above their head, to throw out the move. That way it's like you're committing without actually committing. Then you can react to whatever they're doing and throw out the dair, double jump, waveland, bacon, or whatever. The other ways are to try to drift back out of grab range (very hard), cross them up and land behind them, or use your dair in such a way that the move ends right before you land. Besides the dairs, you missed a lot of techs that may have allowed you to escape some of his combos. You could be a bit bolder in your edgeguarding. Just edgehogging Lucas isn't going to work unless he's very far away. Sometimes you could jump out and fair or nair him (you tried a couple times that I saw and whiffed), or stay on the stage and ftilt, dtilt, fsmash, sh nair, or whatever. His up B isn't as threatening as Ness's, so don't be afraid to trade. Most of the time, from what I remember, he was shooting right for the ledge. Try to expect that, and if he does something else, adjust your punish accordingly. The last thing is that you landed with aerials a few times when he was two or three character lengths from you, and he punished you because Lucas is really fast and has a long grab range. Think of him like Fox: he can punish you hard even from a distance if you do something laggy enough. I'm not sure what the best solution is, but I'd try something like just a standard land or landing with bacon.

Edit: Dakpo, I just watched your sets against Oracle and Sethlon. What the heck. How are you so good? Please share some of your vast talent with us lowly G&W scrubs.

Thanks :)
Im not sure how watching me lose horribly to sethlon makes me look that good, but I feel my matches with Oracle are pretty clean.

Roy's a douche and that guy's been playing him for forever in Melee. Just keeping up with him is admirable.

The place I went to was fairly empty today, so I played a lot of friendlies and some sets that were recorded: http://www.twitch.tv/beastmodeny/b/556261922. I play sets against Ninjalink's Zelda and JohnNumbers' Charizard starting at 3:31:12 and another against a Ness who I've been losing to since I started playing at the beginning of the summer at 4:11:30. I don't think I win a single game throughout the stream so looking closely at these matches should be very helpful for me. If anyone could also look at the sets specifically and point out some things I should work on, I would really appreciate it.

Good stuff. Darkrain looked pretty much clueless. My one takeaway would be to stop ledgerolling when he's going to make it back to the stage.

**** me man, teach me how to play PM GnW, not my melee GnW with a better up-b
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zs36aQ3F4-A&
I know I fair too much and should go for vertical combos instead of horizontal ones, and I attack from the ledge too much
I also dont know how to edgeguard if I'm not fox and they sweetspot, Gotta get gud

Yell at my bad-habits so I can break them pls.
The Ganon/GnW MU feels completely fine, I just was dropping all my offstage edge guards and looking back I could have done much better in like, everyway. Particularly my platform movement and DI were really ****ty, I'm normally good at those but I didn't DI anything until my last stock game 3

Got bopped game 2

A friend of mine came over tonight with PM.... Im not sure what version it was but we took some video. Seems like out of the 5-6 times Ive played PM, 4 of them were different versions. I liked 3.5 though.

First of all, that was 3.02. Lot's of little version differences give it way. Second of all, those sound effects, though (Mr. Slot Machine and Watch). Lastly Dair>Up-B>Dair>Up-B (y)

I'll go over the first instances I see something and you can try and see where they come up again and again.

[0:04] You are dash dancing, but you aren't really dash dancing. You are staying in one place and he just comes over and corners you for it.
[0:15] Those stalls aren't real, and you paid the ultimate price. Ledge dash or something to get the hell out of there.
[0:23] Just throwing out moves in neutral. You should be trying to make him throw out moves so you can punish. I'll assume the DSmash he ends up punishing was gonna be Dtilt, but it still wouldn't have worked.
[0:26] Missed the tech even though you were defenseless and should be looking to see this coming.
[0:33] Reacting way to fast to Ganon going off stage. If you had waited a split second longer you could have seen that his only option was Up-B and taken his stock.
[0:41] You are too brave. Out of jumps and Ganon is controlling that whole side of the stage. Retreat, retreat to the ledge.
[0:54] Just edge hog him (he's Ganondorf).
[0:55] Too slow this time. Smashville is a stage you really have to pay attention on. You could have covered that platform and had time to go back to the ledge.
[2:38] Going for a D Throw tech chase, from mid stage, when Ganon is at easy follow percents. I disagree.
[7:39] Don't get hit with Down B. Just shield it and punish OoS.
[9:28] Forward tilt OoS is not a thing. Work on using Up-B, WD, jab, dtilt or grab.

That's about it. The rest of the video was mostly more of those things. Make sure you don't autopilot in neutral or especially when edge guarding (Minigame: Count how many standing Chef's you use when he's out over the edge, then count how many hit).

Hey guys, here's like 27 minutes of me in grand finals of a local tournament last week: http://www.twitch.tv/irongamingtv/b/590666581?t=2h14m26s I need some critique to beat this Wario. He's been better than me recently but I want to start beating him consistently again. I swept the first set so if you want to skip to where I start losing the second set starts at about 2:24:50. I'm going to tag @ Artimus Artimus because apparently he's the master at beating Warios.

I dunno if you still need help, but there are 2 important things, dont get Grabbed and for the love of god dont get hit by Side B, because that moves absolutely destroys you and you can die as low as 40% if you dont DI correctly. Use your bacon to control space and try to go for grab combos if you can't get past his shield. Bair is amazing in this matchup because wario has no way of beating it and is completely safe on shield.

Btw, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjPze6Ja-1M&feature=youtu.be , 0-to-death to Dark (yeah, Perfect Dark, Ariquenuubs etc) , i still lost that match but that was epic <3, also i still placed 3rd :3

Reposting this from the QnA place since shapular just posted vids, too. Would love feedback if you have time <3 (I thought everyone would be proud to know I landed 6 nines at our last weekly, 3 of which ending games)

Vs. Indy (Falcon) (was extremely close to winning...one spot above me on the PR)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR4-LsegSKk

Vs. Nakamaru (Fox G1 / Marth G3) (Starting to figure him out a bit, might use Fox against his Marth, but I still need some matchup knowledge...two spots above me on the PR @ #1)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm8eSwUYWyQ

Vs. Sweet (Falcon, Fox) (Again so close to winning :/ )

i used to play alot of PM when 3.5 was released and ganon and g&w were my mains. i played in a tournament last week and went strictly g&w and did alright. here's a video, lemme know what yall think

one thing i could do to improve is practice my l-cancels with g&w i usually get 65%-85% with him but around 90% consistently with ganon and C.Falcon. i just dont have much drive to practice PM anymore but i still have fun playing it

Hey guys, about a week and a half ago I took part in the KC Classic which was one of the tournaments in the Midwest circuit. I did pretty decently, getting 4th of about seventy or eighty-something participants including Dart, Darkrain, and Denti (even beating out Denti although I never played him in bracket).

I got my last three sets recorded, mind breaking them down? Two of them I lost, and the other I won in a nailbiter. I used Game and Watch except for the last game against Wario and the middle game against Falcon (switched to Zelda for those).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQbD2l69HoQ&list=PL6ac8u-Z7HnJaLyGLu7xXx4cfd6HxHdgu&index=20 (against Falcon) (L 0-3, but beat him 2-1 in winners)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2bDBaZ-0Rw&list=PL6ac8u-Z7HnJaLyGLu7xXx4cfd6HxHdgu&index=21 (against Marth) (L 0-3)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG6uTt_DcvU&index=22&list=PL6ac8u-Z7HnJaLyGLu7xXx4cfd6HxHdgu (against Wario) (W 3-2, also won 2-1 in winners)

Things I notice about myself immediately is that my spacing wasn't the best and I dropped a couple edgeguards, also probably could have used more bacon approaches, and I missed the finishers on some up b's.

On a side note, if you're looking for a giant helping of mother's spaghetti, go to the last match against Wario last stock. I'm playing as Zelda in that match but I missed like 4 kicks.
