Nice to hear Fire Emblem Heroes stuff in Smash, it's honestly my favorite Fire Emblem game.

Our next Legendary Hero has been revealed, and it's none other than the OG Lord: Marth!

Nice to see he finally has a Legendary version. It's been overdue for some time. He has a unique special in the form of Fire Emblem, which acts as a Bonfire with a cool down of 2 but with a focus on Speed while also granting him and his allies a +4 stat buff to him and all his allies. He also a unique B-skill which makes him optimized for taking any dragon unit. It's also worth mentioning he broke the female-female-male Legendary Hero pattern that's been going on, so I guess we can kick that rule out of future Legendary Hero predictions.

I'm personally not interested in pulling Marth at all though. I wanted Hrid to be our next Legendary Hero (especially since the timing for him to appear would've been perfect with Fjorm and Gunnthra's reappearance with this banner), who would've made my 112 orbs I accumulated these past few weeks worth using, but alas, looks like Hrid won't be playable just yet.

The other units in this Legendary Hero banner are Lene, Spring Kagero, Spring Alfonse, Sword Reinhardt, Nephenee, Faye, Brave Lucina, VA!Hector, Gunnthra, Fjorm, and Legendary Robin.

My units of interest for this banner are VA!Hector and Faye; I want both for Distant Counter and Firesweep Bow fodder respectively.

I won't be summoning on the banner because a better Brave Hector is my top priority, but I hope I can get Marth in the future.
I'm glad that he finally got a Legendary alt. The guy deserves it and it's fitting how the first lord's special is the title of the franchise.

It trades a bit of power in exchange for an automatic spectrum buff for your entire team, including the user who also can run a weapon that doubles his own buffs.

Also worth noting that since it scales off of Marth's stats, it may have the potential to outdamage Regnal Astra if Marth has already activated it and received its buffs that round.

Calling it now, DC Marth is going to be meta-defining.

Don't know if it's been brought up but the stats for a leaked GHB unit (the one that comes out three days before the New Heroes banner starts next month) have been datamined when the new update came out:

Here are Jamke's stats:

He looks like a pretty strong, hard-hitting archer!

On a different note, my luck on the Legendary Hero banner has been quite good so far. When I was sniping for silver orbs in the hopes of getting Faye in the absence of green orbs at the time, I got another Spring Kagero, so I'm keeping this extra one as Lethal Carrot fodder. I'll have to figure out which of my dagger units will benefit from it. I pulled her after spending about 15 orbs.

After using about 20 orbs, I came across my second green orb while trying to snipe for it in the hopes of getting my most wanted unit from the Legendary Hero banner: VA!Hector. Good news: I got him in that second green orb! I finally have Distant Counter fodder for my Myrrh!

I'd love to give Myrrh DC right now, but I'm hesitant to do it at the moment because of that skillset glitch. Has it been resolved with this update?

With 96 orbs left, I'll probably switch between the Legendary Hero banner and the Brave Heroes banner in the hopes of pulling Faye or perhaps more VA!Hectors for the former and Brave Hector for the latter.

What’s this about a glitch?
It's explained in this video:

Basically, when you teach a newer skill to a unit, that skill disappears when you taught unit's original skill prior. Supposedly, the skill set feature that was added may have something to do with it.

------

I decided to go for some more summonings in the Legendary Hero banner in the hopes of pulling Faye for Firesweep Bow fodder. When no silver orbs showed up at times, I sniped for green in the hopes of pulling another VA!Hector.

About seventy orbs go by, and I didn't pull her. All I got instead was two more Spring Alfonse (both have now been merged with the Spring Alfonse I pulled a long while back), another Spring Kagero (pulled her in the same session as one of the extra Spring Alfonses I got), and my first Gunnthra!

She is +Spd -HP. Not exactly the most ideal nature for her since she'd much rather have +Atk, but I'll take it for now.

I also used the extra VA!Hector I pulled as Distant Counter fodder for my Myrrh, and I finally finished grinding her up. I'll make another post about that later with my updated Flier Emblem team for you all to see!

The new Abyssal difficulty is insane. After several hours, I finally managed to beat the Grima map. And, it was quite fitting, Tiki was the one to take down Grima.

Tiki Grima.jpg

She definitely deserves to wear those Golden Goggles for awhile! Veronica also proved to be incredibly useful here.

But Abyssal Marth looks even more difficult...

As for the Legendary Banner, it's great that Marth finally made an appearance, to go alongside the CYL heroes. His art looks really good too, quite similar to his portrayal in the DS remakes. That said, I feel pretty safe skipping the banner, since I have most of the units that I would want from it. I could use another Faye for a Firesweep Bow, and Spring Kagero might be nice to have handy, but I think I'd rather pull more on CYL, or wait to see what's on the next banner.

That indicates how many times a friend has borrowed your character. I guess that one friend likes whoever you have up!

My Tiki is quite popular:

Dude, how many friends do you have in your list? That's such a large number compared to my 1113 lol

Since I'm in a good today, I'll share my build for fun! I decided to whale all 140 of my orbs and sniped solely on the Brave banner. I ended up getting another Zelgius, Celica (Normal not brave lol) and Lene. I got two Adult Tikis so the whale was worth it imo. Here's how she's looking.

I'm satisfied with what I got so far. I heard Guard 3 + QR3 was a deadly combo on her. I have other C skill options that she learned which are Threaten Res 3, Threaten Atk 3 and Smoke 3 but I think for the time being Panic Ploy 3 works the best on her.

I just need 5 more of her! The "first +10 character" dream continues to push forward!

Well actually, Tiki's just my favorite character in the entire franchise. I loved her in Awakening, Heroes and Tokyo Mirage Session #FE (There's even a character called "Tiki=Waifu." lol)

I did manage to beat both Grima's and Marth's Abyssal LHBs with Ayra, green Olwen, bride Ninian, and brave Lyn in the former and Ayra, Reinhardt, bride Ninian and Nowi for the latter.
They were very difficult to do and it took me a few hours to get a good method for Grima's LHB. I got lucky at the end and Ayra managed to live with 2 HP, which then resulted in Grima getting KO'd from a Regnal Astra.
Marth's was kinda tricky, but the annoying part was the healer with Panic Ploy.

Now that I got another VA!Hector, I used him as Distant Counter fodder for my Myrrh, and with that, my Myrrh is finally complete. She's also my newest on my Flier Emblem team.

Speaking about my new Flier Emblem, I'll share it here. It's been my main team for quite some time. It's also had quite the number of changes since the last time I shared it a few months ago.

This is Myrrh! She has replaced Michalis as my new main tank and archer counter on my Flier Emblem team. Compared to Michalis, Myrrh has a much higher Attack, Defense, and Resistance, making her not only a better physical tank compared to Michalis, but an all-around tank overall. With Fortify Flier buffs, she can reach a whooping high Defense and Resistance stats of 42 and 37 respectively.

Like Michalis, she has Iote's Shield to remove her weakness to bows, Unlike Michalis, she is able to retaliate against archers that try to destroy my team on the enemy phase thanks to Distant Counter. In Michalis's case, he had to bait the archer on the enemy phase, then kill the archer on the player phase to eliminate the threat. Now, Myrrh can do both of that in just the enemy phase!

Her speed is rather low, but that's not surprising considering she's optimized to tank. Quick Riposte gets around this issue by allowing her to perform follow-up attacks when it's appropriate. She can also utilize Goad Flier buffs to reach a speed stat as high as 30 if she wants it. She even has Goad Fliers to help her fellow teammates deal some extra damage.

Great Flame hits hard thanks to the fact it calculates based on which of the two stats between the foe's Defense and Resistance is the lower one. With her default 56 Attack combined with Goad Flier buffs (up to 2 in this team's case), her Attack can reach 60-64 depending on how many Goad Flier buffers are nearby! Add Great Flame into the mix, and she can really deal a major bruise!

This is a little dragon who can be quite dangerous despite her appearance saying otherwise, so one thing is certain: never underestimate Myrrh!

Best Sacred Stones girl has been on my first Flier Emblem team, and she is still around for my new and improved Flier Emblem team. Tana has become one of my most used units overall, and it's understandable why. With a very high Attack stat and a weapon optimized to boost her defenses on the enemy phase, she makes an awesome enemy phase tank!

I originally used a Fury + Quick Riposte combination on her, but after receiving some feedback from back then on how to optimize her tankiness, I swapped Fury with Close Def 3. Combine that with the Close Def 3 seal and her personal weapon, and she can receive a +19 Defense boost for a total of 44 Defense when facing most melee units on the enemy phase! The combination of the two Close Def 3 skill and seal also makes her optimized to tank against most dragons!

With Goad Flier buffs, her Attack and Speed stats can reach anywhere between 57-61 and 40-48 respectively. She can one-shot almost anything on the enemy phase as long as it's not a hard-hitting green unit or an archer. Tana also have Fortify Fliers equipped to buff Myrrh's defenses.

When it comes to destroying red units and non-green dragons while tanking on the enemy phase, Tana excels at exactly that!

This is my new red unit on my Flier Emblem team: Legendary Ryoma! He is taking over Halloween Nowi's place as the red unit bruiser.

Thanks to his +Atk -Def nature and Life and Death 3, Ryoma is fully optimized for a Firesweep Sword set upon achieving blistering high default Attack and Speed stats of 57 and 44 respectively. Add Goad Flier buffs into the mix, and he can become even more devastating with the weapon at hand!

The combination of Moonbow and Bushido allows him to KO or heavily injure some tanky blue units like Shiro, Lukas, Fallen Hardin, and Brave Hector. The Heavy Blade seal to activate Moonbow every time he doubles. With his incredibly high Attack, the seal will activate a majority of the time.

I might switch Ryoma with my Halloween Nowi every now and then. She currently uses a Raourblade build that uses the Fury+Desperation combo that allows her to hit pretty hard when given the necessary Flier buffs. She's also my only Flier that has Hone Fliers at the moment.

Still, I've been using Legendary Ryoma, and he is already proving to be an incredibly formidable unit that can kill almost anything on the player phase and not worry about taking damage back (thanks to Reposition from the other Fliers that allow him to get out of harms way in the enemy phase).

And now, we finally reach the team mascot who I consider to be the star of the team: Summer Takumi!

You all know what I think of Takumi, so when Summer Takumi was revealed, you bet I wanted to make a team around him, and what better team to put him in then a Flier Emblem team!

He is taking over Kinshi Hinoka as the team's main archer. Summer Takumi is proving to be more useful than her simply because he hits harder. Kinshi Hinoka might still take over from time to time though, mainly because she has her personal bow that makes her better capable at taking on Armored units and can make her fellow Fliers more mobile thanks to her default B and C skills.

But back to Summer Takumi, let's look at what makes him good, shall we?

He is optimized for a Brave Bow build. With the help of Life and Death 3 and Squad Ace E 3 (the fancy version of the Attack +3 Seal combined with his good Attack, his Attack stat reaches 51 total! Combine that with Goad Flier buffs and it can reach even higher for a total of 55-59 Attack! While 35 default Speed looks slightly-higher than average, it can reach a total of 39-42 with Goad Flier buffs. The combination of the high Attack and Speed stats means Takumi's Brave Bow can practically one-round many units. The Chill Speed 3 skill also increases his chances of doubling the entire enemy team by lowering the foe with the highest Speed. Luna helps him break through the defenses of the more tanky units.

Goad Fliers is the C-skill of choice to boost the offensive potential of his fellow teammates. He also has Desperation prepared as an alternative B-slot that allows him to deliver follow-up Attacks if his HP is low enough. Surprisingly, there are some strong attacks he can survive thanks to his +HP nature, which can sometimes give him the low HP necessary to activate Desperation. Of course, you don't want Takumi taking hits a majority of the time since he is more optimized for the player phase and less for the enemy phase because his defenses are low.

I might give Summer Takumi the Firesweep Bow once I pull Faye so that he can attack more safely without having to worry about any counterattacks at the cost of not hitting as hard as he normally would with a Brave Bow, though I'm currently debating whether or not I should give the Firesweep Bow to him or my Kinshi Hinoka when that time comes.

Still, as it stands, Summer Takumi has proven to be an incredible ally ever since I pulled him, and when he isn't doing Infernal GHB, BHB, or LHB solos, you can see him excelling the most in my Flier Emblem team! At this rate, he may even become my most used unit! I might even consider getting the S-Support with him!

Tiki was my first 5*+10 character too! She's one of my favorites from the franchise as well. It was definitely worth spending several months worth of feathers on her. It's also really nice that she's extremely powerful too. Good luck on getting the next 5 merges, you're halfway there!

And I have around 60-70 friends on my FL. A +10 Tiki with the Steady Breath + Aether build is great for Grand Conquests.

I did manage to beat both Grima's and Marth's Abyssal LHBs with Ayra, green Olwen, bride Ninian, and brave Lyn in the former and Ayra, Reinhardt, bride Ninian and Nowi for the latter.

Congrats! I also finished Marth, not long after I posted about Grima. I used green Olwen, Reinhardt, Camus, and Hoshidan Micaiah. The green Olwen was an extremely lucky pull -- I got her from my free pull on the recent banner, +Spd too! I'm pleased that I was able to finish both of them, and the golden accessories look nice. I think the Abyssals are a good idea, although I hope they don't get too crazy. I thought it was pretty insane, but it ended up actually being doable (with a lot of work). Having the rewards be reskinned accessories means people don't need to worry about missing out on resources and such.

Thank you and congrats on the Olwen! Mine is +Attack/-Res and I got her on her first banner... she effectively replaced Camus on my Horse Emblem team because she is just better overall.
I am fine with the Abyssal difficulties, but I agree that I hope they don't go too crazy with them. I also hope the rewards will still be these golden accessories instead of major rewards like 5 stars or Orbs. If they make Abyssal GHBs, I fear what Betrayal's GHB would look like since it's widely agreed his GHB is among the hardest content in the game.

The next Voting Gauntlet has been revealed! It will feature last year's CYL winners and this year's CYL winners. The Voting Gauntlet will last from September 5 until September 10. Additionally, starting today, last year's CYL banner will return for the coming VG.

Here are the matchups:

Whose team will you join?

I'm going for either Team Ike or Team Veronica since I like them both.

I'm joining team Ike.
He's my favorite lord and my second favorite FE character. I am easily going to support him.

Speaking of Brave Heroes, that banner is giving me bad luck. I went to 4.50% and got a Shigure in return... it was a really bitter moment for me. :/

The Legendary banner, on the other hand, gave me some luck. I managed to get Nephenee, Lene, and the Hero King himself all in one batch! :D

I suspect that people can probably guess who I'm going to support, given how excited I was to get pity-broken on the CYL banner by a -Atk Lucina.

I did some pulling on the CYL banner again, and got this abomination:

Luke.png

Now I have my own Luke too! Ugh. Guess he and Saber can have a rare unit party. But, unlike Saber, I don't really care for Luke. I at least liked Saber in Echoes. I'll probably fodder him off at some point.

With that, I think I'm going to save my orbs for future banners, which means I need to decide which free unit I want to grab. It's going to be either Celica or Hector, but I'm still undecided. I like Ephraim, but I don't need another axe knight. Hector would be useful, but I don't particularly like using armors, so I'm probably going to go with Celica.

As expected following the Jamke GHB leak (and said GHB just started today), the New Heroes banner coming this Friday is Genealogy Gen 1 focused!

Quan, Silvia, and Lewyn are the featured units. Of interest, Quan has a Rally skill that boosts Speed and Defense of another unit by 6, Silvia has a weapon that's the Res-boosting variant of Lene's weapon, and Lewyn is looking to be a pretty good Green Mage with a new B-skill that can dramtically lower his cool-down (said B-skill is even inheritable from the looks of it!) and a personal weapon that gives him a speed boost and a built in Desperation effect that can be activated when he has 50% or more HP).

Ethlyn will also be the TT award unit for this coming banner, and she is confirmed to be a staff cavalry unit.

Also, Loki showed up in one of the story maps. Yep, the whole plot point that Loki infiltrated the Askr group by disguising herself as Ylgr will probably come true. My guess is that this particular Loki battle shown in the trailer takes place right after Loki is revealed to have infiltrated the Askr group.

As for me, I'm not interested in pulling from this banner. None of the units interest me, but Quan and Lewyn look pretty cool. For my free summon, I'm going for one of them.

I'm not too interested in pulling this banner either. The units here don't interest me as much, but they all seem really good.
If Quan gets demoted, he will be top tier fodder for most people; his third tier rally skill will shake up how Arena scoring will be. Interesting to note, if you run a Tactics team (and namely give one unit Attack and Res Tactic) with this Rally skill, all of the stats of one unit will be +6.
I'm just thinking if I should spend more Orbs one more time for a better Hector or just wait.

Like the others who have posted so far, I'll also be skipping this banner. I've never played any of the Judgral games, so I've no particular attachment to the characters.

I am really looking forward to the next update, however. Being able to turn characters into combat manuals will be an extremely nice feature to free up space in the barracks.

Yeah, that's what I'm looking forward to most right now, combat manuals. I'm always sitting at or near my max capacity, and this'll do wonders for freeing up space and keeping it with plenty of spots open.

also I see that IS has taken the next step in powercreeping and is now creeping dual rallies lol

So I decided to pull from the Hoshidan Summer banner on its final day. On my very last summon from the banner, I had some great luck!

It's Summer Elincia! Although Ryoma was my favorite of the four dancing units, I've been more interested in pulling Elincia since she has Attack/Speed Push that my Brave Veronica would benefit from.

She had a nature of +Def -HP, so her IVs were meh. I ultimately foddered her for the Attack/Speed Push that I always wanted:

The result:

My new and improved Brave Veronica, ready to deliver a much bigger punch with Atk/Spd Push 3! I also changed her seal to Live to Serve to restore her HP after she takes that 1 damage to herself so that she can activate that A-skill again!

This may be a double post, but the news I'm about to share makes me want to do so since it's exciting stuff:

So remember those fan books of Takumi and Leo that I previously talked about?

Well, those books came out in Japan on August 31. In it, there is a surprising yet very exciting news that is mentioned towards the end of both books:

^This is a teaser that appears in both books that promises the "production of the Fates artbook is underway!" It also mentions the Awakening, Tellius, and SoV artbooks in the teaser as a way of saying "Just as how these games got art books, so too will Fates!"

Yep, looks like Yusuke Kozaki stuck to his word in that one Cipher presentation from back then when he promised he would release a Fates artbook soon. He previously mentioned he wanted to release it by the end of this year, but judging by how we're already a little past the halfway point of 2018, I'm guessing the Fates art book won't come until early 2019 at this rate.

But hey, Fire Emblem Fates is finally getting an artbook about four years after its Japanese release! This means we will finally see the official arts of all the Fates character rather than just the royals, Felicia, Jakob, Takumi's retainers, Leo's retainers, Saizo, and Kaze. They might even add some story details to it similar to what the SoV art book did to its game (perhaps the Fates art book will finally reveal the name of Fateslandia?)

As for the new story chapter in Fire Emblem Heroes:

>Loki is revealed to be the traitor that infiltrated the Askr group.
>Loki is also revealed to have disguised herself as Ylgr to infiltrate the Askr group.
>Alfonse spelling out the most obvious hint regarding Loki's Ylgr disguise:

My reaction:

Yeah, the moment Ylgr suddenly called out Kiran's name despite never meeting him/her before and right before Fjorm was about to introduce him/her to her, it was really obvious Ylgr would later be revealed to be Loki in disguise.

It would've been more interesting if someone else turned out to be the traitor. There was a moment where the story implied Fjorm could be that traitor with the way her coughs were getting worse. That would've been a more surprising twist. Alas, they won't with the obvious route.

The ending dialogue of the chapter also reminded us that Loki has much bigger plans in store, and that she is probably the main villain of Book II. My guess is that the next fight with Surtr will take place at the Rite of Flames where Veronica and the real Ylgr will be sacrificed, so I guess our heroes will have to kill him there before those two girls become the sacrificial lambs to bring back Surtr's resurrection powers.

So we got a new event calendar now:

Getting a lot of new banners in this one. On Friday there's to be another New Heroes banner, and then one week later, while that banner is still up, there's to be another one.

And it's a really long one, runs for about a month. Have to wonder what it is.

And that's then on top of the monthly new legendary hero and what is likely to be this year's Halloween banner (that Special Heroes banner in October).

I.S. plz put Nah on one of these banners, I need

probably shouldn't have expected them to do anything else besides the obvious

tho they kinda made it weird, going all like
"Loki was Yglr"
"something something dreams"
"Loki is also Hrid"(?)
*Loki becomes Alfonse for a second"

it was a little confusing to me what was going on there, though most of it meant nothing in the end, as all that really happened was what we predicted: it got revealed that Loki infiltrated the group by taking on the appearance of one of them and that's why **** happened

I'm hoping for Charlotte.

We're getting lots of new heroes with this event schedule! That's pretty cool. It looks like Flora is set then, but I wonder who will be joining her. Since it's Flora, a Fates banner seems likely. I'd like Lilith to make into the game sometime, and I'd also like to see Ophelia. Or maybe they'll add Selkie, finally giving us a beast unit?

I wonder what the second, month-long banner is? Maybe the second iteration of Farfetched Heroes? That seems like a possibility to me. Also, I suspect Book II is coming to an end soon, so I could also see them releasing a banner with some of the enemies of the story, such as Veronica (since we'll be saving her), and the Muspell sisters. If they did that, I could see why the banner is a month long one, and it would coincide with the Book II quests. Anyone else have any thoughts?

The seasonal banner in October is almost certainly going to be Halloween. I want one of the Whitewings to be featured.

I've got lots to say regarding Fire Emblem Heroes.

First, those last second multipliers, man. Such a pain!

Still, congrats to Team Ephraim for the victory! You guys sure gave it your all!

On a different and more positive note, I finally beat all the Paralogue Chain Challenge sets on Lunatic! That also means...

I FINALLY beat the dreaded P. 11 & 12 set!

You don't know how much that particular Chain Challenge set on Lunatic annoyed me! First, you have a Brave Lyn to deal with in the first and second CYL maps. Then, you have to deal with a stupidly powerful Blue Mage on the first Performing Arts map that can easily kill one of your units on the first turn thanks to the help of PA!Azura and PA!Inigo nearby.

Myrrh was the unit that primarily carried me through the CYL maps so that I'd have enough to go through the PA maps before switching to another team. Now that she finally has Distant Counter and can utilize the Defense buffs from Tana's Fortify Fliers, she was able to tank and kill Brave Lyn on the first CYL map to make things easier, and she was also able to tank against that Firesweep Bow Archer in the CYL map to bait it away from my other fliers. Myrrh finally went down in the third CYL map, but by the end of it, she allowed Tana, Summer Takumi, and Legendary Ryoma to finish the rest of the job.

Then came the PA maps. All my fliers escaped the Blue Mage on the first turn, and Takumi killed it on the next turn. Ryoma went down to PA!Inigo after getting cornered, but Summer Takumi was able to get the last two kills. Summer Takumi also solo'd the second PA map, with Tana using Reposition every turn to keep him safe. Both went down on the third CYL map, but Takumi did PA!inigo before going down, and my second team of Brave Lyn + Reinhardt + PA!Azura + Flying Olivia finished it from there!

Phew, I'm glad I finally got all the Paralogue Chain Challenges on Lunatic done! The only Chain Challenges I still need to do on Lunatic are the story ones starting from Chapter 9-10 set onward.

------

Also, in other news, I accumulated 20 orbs on Saturday night, so I decided to pull from first CYL banner to see if I could get another Brave Ike so that my Nowi could finally get Steady Breath. I got no Brave Ikes in those 20 orbs, but I got another 20 orbs from the special September deal you could buy in-game.

In my first summoning of those added orbs, I finally got another Brave Ike! I can finally work on completing my Nowi build now that she has Steady Breath!

I used the rest of my orbs to see if I could get Brave Hector, and behold:

The mighty Marquess of Ostia finally appeared to me! That's great!

His IVs ended up being +Atk -Def. It's a mixed bag. On the one hand, he got one of his best boons. On the other hand, he got one of his worst banes (because it gives him 36 base Defense at the highest, which is the same base Defense as my Hardin).

I'm still going to pull from the CYL2 banner until it ends in the hopes of getting a better natured Brave Hector. If I don't get a good-nature Brave Hector, I might use this one. We'll see.

But on the bright side last night, at least my Nowi will finally be complete soon now that she finally got Steady Breath! It's been long overdue, but that's what happens when you haven't been able to summon another Brave Ike for quite a while until just recently!

------

Regarding the Fire Emblem Heroes schedule and that leak, I'm guessing this coming banner will be Fates related. I'm glad Flora will finally show up in Heroes; it's long overdue. I was originally expecting her to be be a GHB (made the most sense TBH), but judging by that leak, it looks like she'll be a summonable unit. That should be interesting.

I predict this coming Fates banner will be Nohr-focused as a follow-up to the Hoshido-focused one we had back in late April-early May. I predicted a while back such a banner would feature an Infantry Blue-Mage Camilla, a Mounted Healer Dwyer, an Infantry Axe-user Charlotte, a Sword Cavalier/Lance Cavalier Silas as the Tempest Trial/Conquest Award, and Flora as the GHB. Seems like my predictions were a bit off now that Flora probably won't be the GHB. I guess the GHB will either be one of the Fates main villain trio or Yukimura. Who do I personally want to pull? Charlotte would be my priority in a banner like this.

The second New Heroes banner is harder to predict. It could be Farfetched Heroes 2, but most of the remaining top 20 in this year's CYL results that weren't lords/main characters were the beastkin characters, right? The only non beastkin character that made the top 20 that wasn't a lord/main character was Kliff IIRC. I feel like if they were to go with the Farfetched Heroes theme, they'll probably have to include some of the characters from the top 30 along with Kliff. Incorporating those beastkin characters is also a possilbity, but I think it'd be more appropriate to have them debut in a banner of their own along with other beastkin characters to introduce the beastkin mechanic into the game. Thus, I think that second New Heroes banner will either be Farfetched Heroes 2 or the introduction of the beastkin units. If it's the beastkin banner, I hope my boy Kaden is among them.

The third New Heroes banner is definitely Halloween IMO. It just feels like the right time to release it then.

Smashboards now has a Fire Emblem sub-forum! Since this thread is filled with Fire Emblem fans, I think you all should check it out!

------

I managed to get another 20 orbs from Chain Challenges and my progress in the current Tempest Trials. I sniped for blue orbs in the hopes of another Brave Hector, but I got him to no avail. There was a point where I sniped for a green orb just to save on some orbs and see if I could get Brave Ephraim.

And what'ya know it, Brave Ephraim did show up!

But it came at a terrible cost. This Brave Ephraim was cursed with one of his worst natures possible: +Spd -Def.

ARGH, DAMMIT! It's such a bad nature for Brave Ephraim: it's the opposite boon and bane of what he wants (+Def -Spd would've been awesome for him)!

Was this Ephraim's way of getting revenge on me for not being part of his team during the Voting Gauntlet? I don't know, but it feels that way. Looks like I've got no choice but to use this Brave Ephraim as Armor March fodder.

Man, I haven't had much luck in pulling the new CYL2 units from this banner until these final days of the banner, and so far, I haven't had the best of luck pulling those Brave units with solid or good natures. First was my Brave Hector with that hit-or-miss +Atk -Def nature, and now I got this Brave Ephraim with an awful nature. I now have two units from this banner I have to get better natures for.

On a happier note:

I have now finished all the Book 1 Chain Challenge sets on Lunatic! I finally cleared the Chapters 9 & 10 set thanks to the help of Myrrh carrying my Flier Emblem team through the Chapter 9 maps, a Horse Emblem team of Sigurd + Legendary Ephraim + Reinhardt + Brave Lyn to carry me through the first three Chapter 10 maps (I'm also using that same team for the current Tempest Trials), and my Armor Emblem team to carry me through the last two Chapter 10 maps (I barely made it on the final turn of the final map where Fallen Hardin and Halloween Jakob were the only units left, and they worked together to narrowly defeat Ike).

The Chapters 11 & 12 set also proved to be quite a challenge. The last Chapter 11 map is such a pain to beat because of how all the mages are held within the fortress to increase their bulk, and you need to kill all of them in 6 turns tops. I ultimately ended up following PheonixMaster1's guide on how to clear it by using F2P units, and my team for the first seven maps comprised of Legendary Ike + Fjorm + Flying Olivia + Brave Veronica. By the eighth map when my first team went down, my Flier Emblem team took care of the rest. On a funny note, my Tana was the only unit left alive on the final Chapter 12 map towards thee end, and she tanked Clive, Mathilda, and Tobin like a boss (though it took a good number of turns)!

The Chapter 13 set wasn't too hard to beat. The Black Knight map was the only one that I needed to ensure all my Flier Emblem team survived through since it was the toughest one, and after that map was finished, my Armor Emblem team took care of the last two maps. I narrowly beat the last map where my Halloween Jakob managed to be the only surviving unit after Fallen Hardin did his part (and went down shortly afterward) to finish Bruno off.

And with that, the only Chain Challenge sets I need to finish on Lunatic are the Book 2 sets!

Called it this would be a Nohrian Fates banner to follow up from the Hoshidan one we had a few months ago. Not surprised with Silas's inclusion either since his Hoshidan counterpart is already in the game.

What I am surprised though is the inclusion of Ophelia and Nina in this banner. I know both are very popular Fates characters and among the most popular Fates children, but I didn't think they'd be implemented into Heroes this soon. I honestly thought Dwyer would be the Nohrian child that would be added since the last Hoshidan-themed Fates banner added the child units playable in both routes (a.k.a. the two Kanas and Shigure), not the Birthright-exclusive ones, so I thought they'd go with Dwyer since he's of Nohrian origin and is available in both routes (as well as being another very popular child character if the Fates popularity polls are anything to go by).

The Garon GHB should be interesting. I wasn't expecting him in Heroes so soon though.

The next story chapter is looking to be the Rite of Flames chapter judging by the maps, Surtr's presence, and the story dialogue presented. On an interesting note, the last two Fates banners we had were associated with story chapters that dealt with the rituals in Book II. The Birthright banner was associated with the story chapter that had the Rite of Frost (kinda fitting since both Hoshido and Nifl are depicted as the "peaceful" kingdoms in their respective games) while the Conquest banner is associated with the story chapter that has the Rite of Flames (kinda fitting since both Nohr and Musspell are depicted as the "evil" kingdoms in their respective games). Thought it'd be worth pointing out.

I think I'll pass from this banner though. I'm not particularly fond of of Ophelia and Nina, and I'm indifferent to Silas and Flora (though I might go for her as a free summon not only because she may be our first S-tier Dagger unit, but also because she has Quick Riposte AND Def Ploy for skill fodder if I pull a bad natured one). If this banner had Benny or Charlotte (this would've been a great banner to finally implement her normal version to Heroes, but alas, IS didn't do it), then I'd consider using my orbs. Looks like my orb stash has been saved for the time being.

You know, I thought of you immediately when I saw Ophelia... I wish you luck in getting her.

Personally, I will be skipping on the banner for now. I would like her and Flora, but I have a goal in mind of getting a +10 Legendary Hector... so I am saving my Orb reserves for that. Maybe if I feel like it or I have some leftover Orbs, I'll go for that.

Oh, and I didn't forget about jolly old St. Garon.

The Fire Emblem Heroes update is out now, and with it, the datamine was also released. In it, it contains a very shocking reveal regarding what next week's banner will feature, and it also has a very shocking detail about the Garon GHB:

These are the stats for the upcoming Fates characters and next week's New Heroes units:

Wait a second, isn't that Laevatain, Laegjarn, and Helbindi from Fire Emblem Heroes? Yes they are! The Catalog of Heroes has been updated with their silhouettes, and they now have stats for when you summon them.

I think this adds up to one thing: next week's banner will feature them! I guess that explains why that banner will be about a month-long. It's a major deal to finally have the Book II antagonists be summonable units! I hope this means we'll see normal Veronica, Bruno, Ylgr, and especially Hrid be added to the summonable lineup in the near future!

Also, you may have noticed Garon isn't an Axe Armor unit like many thought he'd be (nor will his map be based on the Penultimate Birthright Chapter map). Instead, he's a Red Manakete! As this datamine shows, there are these two pictures of interest:

We're getting Dragon Garon from the Birthright Endgame map! That means his GHB map will be based on that very same map!

This also means Garon is our 2nd Manakete GHB, following the Male Kana one from a few months back. He is also our first non-Tiki Red Manakete too!

It turns out he won't be voiced by Travis Willingham, but Patrick Seitz instead. This is the second Fire Emblem character where Patrick Seitz takes over a character that was previously voiced by Travis Willingham: first was Camus where he was voiced by Travis in Heroes but was then voiced by Patrick in Echoes. Despite the voice actor change, I think Patrick will make Garon sound just like his Fates voice. He can imitate Travis's voice quite well if his performance of Zeke is anything to go by.

Garon's Heroes art is also really good! Easily one of the best artworks in the game IMO.

------

Today is the final day of the CYL2 banner, so I used the orbs I had left in the hopes of getting that better natured Brave Hector and/or Brave Ephraim after getting both units with lackluster natures. I didn't get either of them sadly; I was pity-broken instead by a particular silver-haired maiden:

My first Micaiah!

She even got her best nature too: +Atk -Def!

Wow, talk about an unexpected treat! Looks like I know which unit I'm investing in now while I save up on orbs for a future banner!

Dropping in to let you all know that I'm still alive (and I have premium now). I haven't been playing Heroes much nor have I been playing Corrin recently either, so with the lack of Three Houses news there really hasn't been much reason for me to keep up with this thread. Of course, now that I'm not invested in Heroes I'm getting all sorts of crazy free pulls. Eldigan, Ayra, and a second Celica and Mia have all come my way since I stopped playing it seriously. That said, it seemed like this thread was already dying when I left, so it seems like there won't be much longer. Maybe in we'll see each other again in the Ultimate Corrin social thread.

Anyway, I'm pretty adamant about maining Pokemon Trainer competitively in Ultimate, which means that I won't really have time to practice Corrin seriously. I'll play them casually and online sometimes, but not enough to really call them a secondary. In fact I've already pretty much dropped them in 4 so I can double down on my Charizard practice. So yeah.

That was all certainly unexpected. Curious to see what Garon's skills are gonna be.

also:

~30 orbs, +Atk/-Res (if i'm reading it right)

Got lucky there, though she'd probably prefer -Spd, but when you have 35 Res with a bane, it's not so bad. Especially when with an Atk boon you hit 51 Atk.
