Pretty much every huge speculation ended in epic failure. This is why I always say "speculation" something fun to talk about...and not to be taken seriously.

I'm sorry, but I had to fix your post. The Icon Theory is not debunked as is pretty much impossible to deny. They are set up in 64-Melee-Brawl setup.

No, he's talking about something else. The theory (which was BS from the start) wasa that the order of the icons was based on their Japanese name. It was still in three tiers (64, Melee, new to Smash).

Het at least now we know that Corocoro is bunk. Which doesnt mean they were trying to screw us over. They are just going by the Dojo site like everyone else. And to do so they need Sakurai's permission. And there is no way he would let them expose anything ahead of Dojo. I was just hoping they had another source. That way we could know what other characters there are. Unfortunately Sakurai keeps holding out on us.

Samurai Panda had "either starting or full roster" in the frickin title. He CHANGED the title. Get your facts straight.

He also said in the first post that he didn't know if we would be getting a full roster or just the DOJO CHARACTERS.

EDIT: Whoops... Looks like SWF has some codes that make that not work... But it's handy on other pages. Dojo is a good example.

I could probably get my hands on a copy of the games a few days before it comes out.

Unfortunately, this isn't Japan. So it's not coming out here first, so it wouldn't matter anyway.

you know a BETTER theory than 26 characters is 25. if shiek is a character than there'd be a 25 starting character roster which would bet he same ast he total number of characters in melee so everythnig would "fit" right. if you think this theory is right it would also confirm shiek as returning.

well it's obvious from the demo that you choose samus and then become zero suit afetr the final smash.

so choosing them as seperate characters isn't happening.

Same here, but I'm not counting them towards the final character count. If they don't have their own tab on the character selection screen, they don't count in my book.

And as we all know, smash balls won't be on in tourneys so there's no use in counting Zamus anyways.

I see no reason to not have Smash Balls in tourneys. It's not like they're exploding crates and Superspicy Curry.

popo and nana i've HEARD have seperate cards so do samus and zerosuit samus and pokemon trainer is split into 3 cards then you add shiek to one of the unknowns and you'd get 25 starting characters.

i think 25 starters is likely because that is the total number of melee characters. so if you take all the known characters subtract snake and sonic you have 20 starters known, and according to the 30 cards covering all the starters theory we have 6 spots left(since ice climbers, pokemon trainer, and samus are split into multiple cards). if shiek is one of those spots we get 5 spots left that probably contain ganondorf (leaked) and the obvious captain falcon.

the final 3 spots could be any combination of highly likely veteran starters such as marth, mewtwo, ness, or mr. game and watch. or some highly likely "starter" newcomers krystal, ridley, animal crosser. or most likely some unknown combination of a few veterans and a few newcomers.

it is possible that pokemon trainer is 4 cards or that these 30 cards also cover sonic and snake and then this 25 starting character theory is dead. tho if they did cover sonic and snake i'd assume they have NOTHING to do with the starting roster anyway...

PT, Samus, and Zelda will have multiple cards, but I don't see Popo and Nana having seperate ones at all. There's nothing to distinguish them at all, besides appearance.

i heard this on another smash forum from a memeber named hydrahunter who said he SAW a card featuring only one of the ice climbers. he hasn't been on yet today but when he is i'm going to ask him for a link to where he saw this. if he's right then it's 25 starters not 26(if shiek is one oft he unknown) which makes sense since 25 is the number of total characters in melee.
