I forgot music has to be extremely deep and have significant meaning in every word of the lyrics.

And that it isn't for dancing to.

So she's not hot and her songs AREN'T catchy?
The dumbness of your post is self-evident, but I'll explain it anyway I guess.

I'm saying I could care less if she's hot (I don't think she is but that's beside the point).

Also, I just don't understand why people say music is "catchy" like that alone makes it good.

To me, that just means it gets stuck in your head easily, which could be a good thing or a bad thing if you think it's annoying in the first place.

I'm pretty sure you don't get to make universal judgments regarding what music is "for."

Actually, I'm a lot like you in that I don't really care about the lyrics unless they're really good or ridiculously horrible, but I understand that different people connect with music in different ways. Appreciating songcraft and lyricism hardly makes one an "elitist."

"I love the internet because now we have rappers who used to be gangsters and thugs telling us not to download music because it's stealing."
-Daniel Tosh
My favorite part:

"If you want instant victory, stick to Princess Peach."
Much loling.

Also:
I got an offer to partner Youtube and make money thanks to ~32k brawlscrubs watching some lame screen capture footage I have of Brawl the night of the Japanese release that I completely forgot about.

I'll probably make like, $0.01 per view, but what the hell?

EDIT:
Reading into it more, it sounds like I might not be allowed to post smash videos and make money from ads on them XD!

Ah well, at least they'll save me the trouble of taking them down.

*head a'splode*...I can understand if someone doesn't like the album, even to harbor so much dislike that they'd call it trash....................but how the F*** do you go from that to saying one of the worst/most annoying songs on the album is the amazing? I want to say that's sarcasm but somehow I feel that'd be giving you too much credit...and that's some ****ty sarcasm, too. But yeah, no debate, just my opinion on your post. That's...how it works, right? >_>
needs more nujabes.
THI-...
sonnn how did you forget champloo ost!? ****'s amazing!!!
-SSSSSSS!!!

My initial reaction to Swift's post was:
" =O omg. I think I love you. "

My second reaction was: ...no Yoko Kanno? (Cowboy Bebop[!!!!!!!!!]=, Escaflowne, among others...oh and she had a touch on the Champloo OST)...but for real, mad props for Gundam Wing OST. ****ing love that.

...again: check out Cowboy Bebop's OST. I recommend the jazz-heavy stuff [which is a large portion of the OST]:

"Tank!" (probably the most famous since it's the intro)
"What Planet Is This?"
"Piano Bar 1"
"Rush"
"Piano Black"
"Too Good Too Bad"
"Clutch"

Speaking of Jazz...if you could only have one jazz album, my personal recommendation would be "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis. One of my favorite albums I've ever lost myself in. [and it always plays in the background on poker night =D]

Hmm...

Really Random Recommendations:

Squarepusher - "Squarepusher's Theme"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUBPH6vp5Uo

Blackalicious - "Alphabet Aerobics" & "Chemical Calisthenics" <----omg so fun and awesome
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foEU2WHdOzA

Bauhaus - "In The Flat Field" <---some of the founding fathers of goth rock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KPoKZZ5pO4

Ben Folds Five - "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrWSkQMWlAY

Nine Inch Nails - "Perfect Drug"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-QnnLudkQA

Snow Patrol - "Make This Go On Forever"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iAbZHmaWjs

The White Stripes - "Jolene" (Live - awesome Dolly Parton cover)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zskw3mCQFL4

Kenna - "New Sacred Cow" <--- SoVa priiiide, ****ing great. Too bad his second album was :( compared to the AMAZING first one

My Chemical Romance (yeah, that's right!) - "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two Of Us"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1BaqEcb330

And then a few from Alexisonfire [Warning: even for fans of the genre, still an acquired taste, though the newer stuff is definitely more widely appreciated] -

**old**
".44 Caliber Love Letter"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQtmA1NEuTs

"Water Wings [And Other Poolside Fashion Faux Pas]"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFpKiB6_1fE
**old**

**newer/different**
"No Transitory" [<3<3<3<3]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpO834GIxuw

"Happiness By The Kilowatt"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSPYvLvw7Ok
**newer/different**

OH and if you want hot and catchy???
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv-3MNL1ZiI#t=0m43s
[don't get bent on the "ska" part of the title...the original is pop, there's a ska version, this is the acoustic version of THAT]

You're just an elitist music intellectual. Us Smashers with Common Sense know that Lady Gaga is hot and makes catchy songs. So that's really all that matters, really you elitists are just so caught up in your own ego to understand such simple concepts as that? It just goes to show Intellectuals use more words than are necessary to tell more than he knows"

For the rest of us Common Sense smashers we'll stick with our hot catchy artists.

Anybody who is into mash ups should check out Super Mash Brothers (yeah I know).

I find their mash up nonsense to be superior to that Pittsburgh fairy, Girl Talk.
