Competitive curiousity

So we all know we have our competitive personalities some worst than others but the ones I'm curious about are the ones who have to win by any means necessary and refuse to take a loss. now these types of folk look down on bad players (even though there is no such thing as a bad player just preference) so when they say you're a noob or a scrub (which is basically racial words in the gaming universe) after beating you several times, they decide to look for better players. now wouldn't looking for a better player increase your chances of losing which you don't like, because you can't say you want a good game if your mindset is to always win and you think losing will be the end of your life. what do you guys think?

They want to find better players to continue to getting better. That's the entire goal of competitive play.
