Hi guys, wasn't really sure where to post this because it's rather broad, so if a mod feels like this needs to go somewhere else then just kick it over!

I'm just about to start a massive project for my English Language A2 Level which 40% of my overall marks are riding on - a language investigation of our choosing on a topic that we're interested in. We have to form a hypothesis and obviously prove it true or untrue. I have chosen to compare the commentary you find in competitive games like Smash Bros. and Street Fighter, which are loose, riddled with profanity and chock full of specific referential talk, to the commentary for shows like WWE, which are more controlled, scripted to an extent and although has some referential talk, never gets quite as specific so as not to confuse inexperienced audiences.

Now, what I'm asking here is for matches for either WWE or fighting games with interesting, detailed or iconic commentary over them. Of course, I've got some ideas; I'm currently making a transcript of "Wombo Combo" (harder than it sounds, what with all the screaming) and am planning to do the same to the "Survivor Series" main event and the "Royal Rumble" match of this year. If anyone could name me some good matches of Smash to transcript, post some links to some good tournament matches, or tell me an episode of WWE to detail (preferably one where Michael Cole talks about the WWE app mid-fight because I can make some points about that) then I would be forever grateful. Thank you!

If you want good commentary from WWE, just look up anything with JR and Vince McMahon. Their ability to construct the story and atmosphere of what was going on in the ring, as well as use effective use of language in soundbites to convey a point is pretty much tbe best that you have easy access to. Also some Paul Heyman stuff if you can find stuff from Invasion era.
