That's pretty funny.

Like Sonic Orochi had recently brought up, the ASDR (Aerial Spin Dash Roll) does more damage than a regular SDR It does 11% AND can do multiple hits. Your Spin Dash turned into an ASDR as it rolled off the platform. I remember in Brawl the Smashville platform could cause a stupid amount of multiple hits from spin rolls, so it looks like it still does. You just happened to get the perfect timing for it. The best case scenario, lol

Uh nice :D
Sorry if that was confusing >_>

Just wanted to help provide some insight as to why it happened.

I'd make a category and add that video, but it feels like it belongs in a moveset thread or something similar more than a video archive. Either way, yeah that happened in Brawl and it was/is glorious every time.

Merry Christmas homies! Just some For glory matches I had recently played on, looking for feedback on what I can work on to improve my Sonic again. My videos are still in bad quality though, had to record from an ipad.

And also this twitch game I posted earlier (which was unfortunately overlooked again, hate it when that happens) in a tournament: http://www.twitch.tv/gamingzoneaz/b/598881612 My Sonic games start at 4:23.48 against a pretty good Villager, under the tag Funker Monster.

At the latest tournament I went to, a lot of people seemed to have been impressed with my skills as Sonic, and yet I didn't use him for most of the tournament, although I did win a ditto match against SamuraiPanda (you may know him as a mod around the competitive smash forums, and the creator of a guide for getting into competitive smash) that I didn't get footage of. This was also the first time I've ever advanced on into a tournament instead of placing near the bottom, and I was really happy I went. So I come here looking for criticism in preparation for my next tournament, so I can make an even bigger impression next time and enter with a Sonic Boom! Any tips and advice would be amazing.

Thanks in advance! And Happy Holidays!

Tell him to show his face around here sometime. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it. A lot of great sets.

I love Zucco's Mega Man so much, so that set was a lot of fun to watch while at work lol. I'll update the thread after I sleep. Dunno if those are in periodical order or not already, but that would be really nice if they are. Always better to be able to see progression.

I think they are in periodical order.

EDIT: Corrected the previous post, now it's definitely in order.

Some really good Sonic play all throughout the thread. Top 5 Sonics are probably 6WX (PA) being the best, and then StaticManny (FL), Lunchables (TX), MeekSpeedy (ON), and Seagull Joe (MD) in no order

I do too, but it still sucks as far as I'm concerned.
It's just... so dull. It's over before anything can really get exciting. :applejack:

My biggest complaint with 2 stock is that SD'ing or taking the first stock can pretty strongly dictate the match. I think the sets themselves can be plenty exciting outside of that.

First stock completely dictates the match. There is no "pretty strongly." :applejack:

back to back matches is draining, especially vs diddy -_____-

I played much better vs mikeray this tournament than last time. I still missed a couple things and played a bit too risky at times with certain reads but luckily it worked out. But having not played vs an actual Rosalina or Palutena outside of online took a bit of time to adjust to, took me by surprise at first.

EDIT: for the twitch videos for some reason the ? is getting removed when i click the link for the time stamp. Not sure why but if that's happening just put it back in and it should work.

I strongly agree with you Espy.

Edit: Those :4diddy:'s suck KC. I've played the campiest one's ever who always know when to shield and don't force themselves into bad situations.

Okay, vid's finally done. Hope you guys enjoy it. :4sonic:

Fantastic work as always, Orochi. Very insightful and well explored execution of the discovery. Very excited to see what this brings for the future.

So I finnaly have something to post in here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kyjGZ7CNKc

This set was still online though.

Vs GimbleB :4zss:
Watched the first round.

Too much spindash. You could benefit from more Side-B shield cancels or spinshots. Try to incorporate more tech into your game.

Also, you try to go for Uthrow > Spring > Uair after it stops being a combo, and you don't jump before the spring to properly follow them when they do go past the proper percent.

Stop incorrectly challenging her paralyzer. Spindash can't beat that ish anymore unless you're using the start-up invincy frames.

I liked the use of hyphen smash to catch her wake-up. Surprised that didn't kill. Shocked by the amount of Utilt you use... Yet no Nair? Nair more. It's amazing. You can weak hit into follow-ups, punish airdodges, combo out of spindash, etc.

That SD though. You could've wall jumped after that Up-B to grab the ledge. You were clearly hugging the wall. Don't ever let that happen again or I will find you.

>:|

I can feel the online just by watching this match, so I don't want to be overly critical of this performance but... These were the comments I felt were worth making.

@ Aether9000 Aether9000

U were pretty good but u need to implement the SD shield-cancel. The ness u playped tended to shield alot so u could approach with that into a grab.
