Character textures just aren't working

I downloaded Brawl+ the other day and it worked absolutely fine, but when I tried to add some costumes I couldn't get them to show up.

I placed the files in the correct folder as listed (private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter,) and tried two or three costumes for different characters, labeling them, for example, Fitlink00.pcs. Afterward, I removed all the Brawl+ files from my SD card, and left just the apps folder with Gecko, replaced the Brawl+ code GCT file with one that only had the File Replacement v2.1a code, and then tried once more. Again, none of the costumes showed up.

Am I missing something? I followed the guide on this forum exactly, as well as a few others. They all said the same basic thing, but even after following all the instructions nothing worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

private/wii/app/rsbe/pf/fighter/link

for link.
Just download a texture pack, obv. Much easier.
I placed his files in that exact folder, as well as a costume for Samus with both the .pac and .pcs in a samus folder and neither worked. I don't see how a texture pack would improve the situation.

Yes it is. I guess I'll have to get a standard one now. I don't understand why it worked for everything else so far with my Wii...

it's because the codes and stuff are loaded through gecko os, which can read SDHC cards.

however, textures and music replacements and stuff are read through brawl from the sd card, and since Brawl can't read SDHC cards, the textures don't work.

Did you name it FitSamusXX? The XX being the number of the costume you want to replace. The .pac should be named the same. It works differently to how PSA does.

ok make sure you have the coustume file name EXACTLY correct. (fitmario02.pcs or whatever) also make sure that it is in the correct folder. try to download textures at a different site and see what happens.
