Character costume edit mode...

What if Brawl had a costumization feature just like other fighting games (T5, VF5, etc.) have?

I think it could be awsome to fix your smasher's look to further stylishly personalize them!

Imagine for example more color variations separated in body color patterns, and things like diferent types of shields/swords for Link, or playing as a capless Mario (or Link), or Samus prime series armor variations, or even an 8-Bit version or your favorite smasher, and for some ppl things like skirtless Peach (or like in Sunshine), or Zelda costumized to look like Tetra, etc...

etc, etc, etc, etc, etc....

So I though now that Nintendo have delayed SSBB for lots of new feature adding, someone could make this idea of character costume edit to reach Nintendo to see if they can make it happen still.

Also, adding this gives new purpose to SmashCoins, with a costume shop feature.

And what about if you could change your smasher's look with a Mii costume option (from your Miis), renember that Mii's bodies can be randomly changeable to fit your smasher's body proportion and physics for them not to affect nor alter basic gameplay scheme, same goes to previous ideas mentioned above.

Just to change looks, not gameplay, and add a bit of more fun to game.

That's all...

I'd say a color customization is possible. The rest is like making alternate costumes, which is for Wario only. But color customs (to go with the names of course) seem liable and a fun addition.

Well Peach was in shorts in almost every Sports game, so that could be implemented.

Color mode would be awesome :D

Fox in Slippy & Peppy color schemes XD

Pikachu w/ blue fur (Marill for Brawl!!!)
Pikachu w/ lt. blue fur (Pachirisu for Brawl!!!)

I'd make Sonic how he's supposed to look, BROWN! :)

Yeah, more or less Color Customization mode.
Couldn't help noticing that your sig is poorly spelled. I don't know where does "Shiek" come from x_x

On topic: Could be nice, but if implementing it could save me 1 month of waiting, I'd take it out.

I'd much rather pick up items like clothes and accesories and stuff to put on characters.

"Let's play Smash dress-up!"

What? Brawl needs to cover a girl demographic, too.

im all for this and you never know because it could possibly be implemented in the game, you should also be allowed to place stickers of your characters

hahhahaa.

Funny thing, I know I would spend at least some time accessorizing my characters.

I would like to be able to customize the colors of the character, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Make Dark Versions of ALL characters!!!

Same, I spent hours customizing my Tekken 5 characters even though very few people actually got to see them.. I know people would have fun with this.

Yeah, there would indeed be a lot of bases you could over. perhaps a Prime-Styled helm for Samus, the Light Shoes from SA2B, various stuff. I don't think it OR a color customization are likely, however.

It won't. Stop being greedy. Do you complain about not having a purple costume in Mario Galaxy? Then why Brawl? I think Sakurai gave us enough customization.

lol, that would be ****in BA.
It would, but sadly, Sakurai was in a motorbike race, did a flip in the air, thought about the idea mentioned above, then crashed on his head. He then forgot b/c he had a rare type of amnesia that makes you forget 12% (on avg.) of your good ideas, which included the original idea, dark and light teams, and K. Rool as a character.
Yes i'm bored: it's not my turn to play FE.

It would be neat if we could change colors and had some glasses and hats. Nothing huge, but some nice options.

I wish that I could tell who a pro was from their costume. Like if Cort alwyas had White Peach with a White hatge and sunshades. You know?

And I would make MK have a beard, angel wings, and a long, white robe.

Something simple would be nice. Just be able to do color swaps, thats it. Nothing too fancy. I know I could spend hours making different color outfits for each char [I probably would do xD]

Maybe there could be 2 custom color spots [or one..] Oh well ^^, just a dream. At least until Brawl comes out

Yeah, your right. Just something basic. If you guys want a custom character so bad, why not ask for a character builder?

In SC3, CAS (Create A Soul) mode had character size problems like for example if you played talim which is small but with CAS you could have a big Talim by making a random costumization and adding Talims move set. (not good)

In Brawl that can be done with Miis.

Also SC3 had "Color Edit mode", and to tell the truth, I think it was all fun but I have much fun in Tekken5 and VF5's costumization modes.

And is not that hard to implement, its just like they've been doin as for now with these new Updates,

Adding a feature like this could delay the game even more yes, but at least we dont end up having SSBB along with a unfulfilled wishlist, but probably we wont care at all if its there once we start playing, it could still be another nice and entertaiing feature for more room for creativity.

And if they do add it, it would be cool to have the six color pre-set and 7th color for the edit, since the data can be saved in the Wiimote there coulnt be any troble for ppl that plays in the same Wii.

IMO, six color pre-set are just fine, but then we have Wario who's over privilaged with his other 6-color pre-set, then I think dam, Link could have this too as he also had different outfit and looks through his series of games.

And I'm not saying that Nintendo is doin a bad or incomplete job, no, IMO SSBB is near perfection in term of features, just like SC1 back in the Dreamcast era, Nintendo have been filling up these holes and digging new ones to fill them up for a great replay value experience in single and multy playing.

A "Costume edit mode" in SSBB can be another dig to fill in...

Edit: (sigh), I would love to have a classic looking Link based on NES's Zelda games, guantletless long sleeves, no leggings for that old classic barbaric look, and most of all... his classic big-long hair bang and side-burns, also the yellow line in his big elf-cap, now that would be awsome!

That's all

Ok, *cracks knuckles*... ow... lousy malk...

Anyway, Everyone is going to have an unfulfilled wishlist with any game. Especially this one because, 1) its Brawl and 2) there is just so much that they could do. So there will be people who be "Oh I wish this was in there" or "If they had just changed this" etc etc.

While it bugs me a little bit that Wario has an alt costume, if we look at this in a optimistic way. Everyone could potentially have alt costumes, but you can unlock 'em [how, I have no clue. Maybe beating Classic mode or even All Star [[if that makes a return]]..]

Brawl is def. looking sweet =)

Also, it would ROCK if Link had his classic outfit. That outfit lasted him til Link to the Past, then they changed him XD

I don't think a costume editing mode should go any further than just changing the colors of the individual parts of the costume. For Mario, for example: his hat, his overalls, his shirt, and maybe even the finer details like his shoes or his overall buttons.

It would be simple and could possibly allow you to use custom costumes online.

Err...I would prefer the cliche of alternate costumes (possibly as un-lockables). What I realized about alternate costumes though is that they would be limited to alternate personas of a specific character. So Mario-Dr.Mario, Wario-Classic Wario, Fox-CLassic Fox, Link-Magic Armor Link, are viable. But, we might not see Lucas-Ness (not because Ness will be playable, he won't), Fox-Falco, Link-Cel Link, Sonic-Shadow, Amy, Silver, other hedgehog, and others because of some otehr reasons. These include; theconcept being awkward, different height weight, and voices.

I wouldn't mind some kind of customization options in Brawl, but judging by the way the more recent Dojo updates have been worded, I think we're supposed to be content with color changes/Wario's alt.

Everyone can change colors, of course. But Wario alone is special...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/howto/technique/technique08.html

We're only getting 6 different texture variations per character.

Well, they wouldn't mention unlockable changes (highly unlikely) or cahnges for other characters yet to be revealed.
