Winner of the Crusade bracket will receive a box of DD munchkins and free venue to the next ShockWave! Experience the ultimate SSB fan creation all day long at ShockWave tournaments!

Some shots of the new venue! Accessible location with a King Kullen, Rite Aid, Chase Bank, Teacher's Federal Credit Union, all within the same shopping center. There is also a Public Library next door for any internet needs (open from 9:00am-5:00pm on Saturdays) and a pizza place right next to that!

This new location is three times the size of the previous BattleGrounds venue in Mastic Beach. A new electrical breaker was installed specifically with smash events in mind to allow for more setups!! The venue has also dedicated their Saturdays to smash events =D

Stage List:
STARTERS:
*Battlefield
*Final Destination
*Lylat Cruise
*Smashville
*Yoshi’s Island (Brawl)

COUNTERPICKS:
*Pokemon Stadium 1
*Castle Siege

General Rules:
*3 Stocks
*8 Minute Time Limit
*Items set to “Off” and “None”
*Pause set to “Off”
*Meta Knight’s infinite dimensional cape tactic is banned.
*Infinites and chain grabs are legal, except for Marth's chain grab on Ness and Lucas and King Dededes's standing chaingrab.
*There is a 35 Ledge Grab Limit for all characters. If a game goes to time and one player goes over the Ledge Grab Limit for their character, they will automatically lose the game. If both players exceed their Ledge Grab Limit, then this rule is ignored.
*The act of stalling is banned: stalling is intentionally making the game unplayable: Such as becoming invisible, continuing infinites, chain grabs, or uninterrupted moves past 200%, and reaching a position that your opponent can never reach you.
*Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
*If the Ledge Grab Limit does not declare one player the winner, the winner will be declared by what the game says in all situations, except for when players are presented with sudden death:
*In the event of a match going to time, the winner will be determined by who has less percent (stock difference still takes priority but will be shown in the results screen).
*If the match ends with both players dying at the same time coincidentally, or if time ran out with both players at equal percent, a one stock three minute rematch will be played on the same stage. For a tie-breaker match, a Ledge Grab Limit of 15 is used for all characters.
*If a match is ended via suicide move, the initiator of the move wins.
*Any coaching that happens during the match (but not in between matches) is restricted. Players who violate this rule will receive a warning (BOTH the player AND the person coaching the player) on the first attempt. Players who violate this rule after a warning will be disqualified from the event and a possible ejection from the venue.
*Players are to attend their matches at the designated times they are called. If you are late to a match, the following rules will be applied based on the amount of time:
*If you are 5 minutes late: Results in a match loss
*If you are 10 minutes late: Results in a set loss
*These times will be strictly enforced to make sure that each player will enjoy the full event on a timely manner
Modified Doubles Rules
*Team Attack set to “On”
*Double Meta Knight is banned
*Life stealing is allowed
*In the event of a game reaching the time limit, if a single player on a team exceeds their Ledge Grab Limit, that team loses. If one or more players on both teams exceed their Ledge Grab Limit, then the Ledge Grab Limit rule is ignored.
*In the event of a game going to time and the Ledge Grab Limit can not determine a winner and both teams have an equal amount of combined stocks, then whichever team has a lower combined percent is declared the winner.
*If a player is using the character Pokemon Trainer, Lucario, or Sonic, either team may request that team colors be changed to make it easier to tell the difference between team players.
Set Procedure
1. Player Priority is determined if it can not be agreed on. (See below for details)
2. Each Team selects one controller port to use for each Player.
3. Each Team selects one character for each Player. A double blind pick may be called by any player.
4. The first game is played on a Stage selected from the Starter Stage List either by mutual consent or through the Stage Striking Method. The order of stage striking will be 1-2-2-1 (Team 1 strikes one stage, followed by Team 2 striking two stages, with Team 1 then striking one of the two remaining stages).
5. The first match is played.
6. The team that lost the previous match may opt to re-pick controller ports (with themselves picking first).
7. The Team that won the previous match may announce one “Stage Ban” if they have not already done so in this set.
8. The Team that lost the previous match announces the stage for the next match from either the Starter or the Counter-pick Stage List. Any Stage named as a “Stage Ban” by the either Team may not be selected. No Stage may be used by a Team that has already won on that Stage in this set.
10.The Team that won the previous match chooses one character for each Player.
11.The Team that lost the previous match chooses one character for each Player.
12.The next match is played.
*Repeat steps 6-11 for all proceeding matches.
*If there is a dispute in controller port selection or initiating Stage Strike use the following method:
Teams will use a random method such as Rock-Paper-Scissors, Coin Flip, or Game and Watch Judgment, where the winner selects either first choice in port selection or first choice in stage striking. Whichever team does not receive first choice in port selection will be compensated with first choice in stage striking.
Note: In Doubles, port selection is ordered 1-2-2-1 fashion (with Team-1 having first choice in controller slot select, Team-2 having both second and third choice, and the final slot going to Team-1).

All Setups must run Project M V2.5b
Starters [5 stages]
*Smashville
*Pokemon Stadium 2
*Battlefield
*Green Hill Zone
*Skyworld

Counterpick: [11 singles/11 doubles]
*Dreamland 64
* Dracula's Castle
*Yoshi's Story (Melee) (Singles ONLY)
*Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
*Skyloft
*Fountain of Dreams
*Final Destination
*Wario Ware
*Norfair
*Metal Cavern
*Castle Siege
*Rumble Falls (Doubles ONLY)

General Rules
*4 Stocks
*8 Minute Time Limit
*Items set to “Off” and “None”
*Buffer set to OFF
*Modified Dave’s Stupid Rule: No player can counter pick the stage he or she last won on unless agreed upon by both players.
*Controller mods of ANY kind (short-hop mod, L-trigger mod, etc), except for cosmetic changes (paint job, different colored plastic), are banned. If you are caught using a banned controller you will be disqualified from the tournament with no refund.
*In the event of a match going to time, the winner will be determined by:
a. Whoever has more remaining stock left.
b. If stocks of both players are the same, the winner will then be determined by whoever has less percent.
c. If the match ends with both players dying at the same time or if time ran out with both players at equal percent, an identical rematch of the previous match will be played out. Same characters and same stage.
*Sets will be best out of 3 games. Loser's Finals, Winner's Finals, and Grand Finals will be best out of 5.
*If each player has one stock remaining and the match ends due to a suicide move (Ganon's side-B, DDD's swallow, holding someone in a grab on a platform as it moves out of the boundaries, etc.), the player who initiated the suicide move wins the match.
*Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in forfeiture of the match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
Additioanl rules for Doubles
*Team Attack set to “On”
*Life stealing is allowed. (Note that lifestealing in Project: M is done by pressing A+B, rather than Melee's start)
*In the event of a game going to time, the winner will be determined by:
a. Whichever team has more remaining stock.
b. If both teams have an equal amount of combined stocks, then whichever team has a lower combined percent is declared the winner.
Character/Stage Selection Process
1. Blind Picks character selection (if asked for)
2. Stage Striking: Players eliminate stages from the Starter Stage List until only 1 remains, and the players then play the first match on that stage. Players strike stages in 1-2-1 order.
3. The first match is played.
4. Winning player of the preceding match bans 3 stages.
5. The losing player of preceding match picks stage for the next match.
6. The winning player of preceding match picks character.
7. The losing player picks character.
8. The next match is played.
9. Repeat 4-8 for all consecutive matches as necessary until the set is complete.
Conduct Rules
*Gentleman’s Clause: Any stage may be played on if both players agree to it. (This rule takes priority over Modified Dave's Stupid Rule)
*No scrooging (player may travel under the stage only once from the ledge)“Traveling under the stage once from the ledge” is defined as dropping off the ledge on one side of the stage and reaching the height of the original ledge on the other side of the stage. The moving platform on Smashville is considered to be equivalent to a ledge, i.e. if a player starts from the moving platform on one side of the stage and travels beneath the stage to the ledge/platform on the opposite side of the stage, the player may not travel beneath the stage back to the ledge/moving platform on the opposite side before until he lands back on the platform. If a player is found to be performing the act of scrooging by a tournament organizer (by his/her discretion), the player will forfeit that match.
*In the event pause is left on accidentally and is pressed, immediately call over the TO. Based upon their judgment, the situation will be resolved. If your situation is neutral [players are not in combat], the match will be resumed as if the pause had not occurred. If your situation is advantageous to one individual and the player in the disadvantageous situation paused, the disadvantaged player will be either placed in a grab or onto the ledge of the stage. If a player in a death situation [Chain grabs, Grab releases, Jab-locks to a kill move, etc] paused while in a death situation, the current stock is forfeited immediately. If you unpause before the TO reaches the station, the player that unpaused losses a stock.
*Players who use the Wii Remote must take the batteries out of the Wii Remote when not playing. If the Wii Remote is still synced up to a Wii with the batteries in, you could unintentionally disrupt a match. If problems persist, a DQ may happen.
*You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility (including battery issues with a Wii Remote), so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you’re using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. Both parties need to agree if a match is to be paused or restarted because of these problems.*The tournament organizer has the right to save/record any tournament match if possible and has the right to upload said match.
Term Definitions
*Double Blind: Either player may request that a double blind selection occur. In this situation, a 3rd party should be told, in secret, each of player’s choices for the first round. Both players are to then select their first round character, with the 3rd party validating that the character selected is the same as their word.
*Contest Port Priority: If an agreement cannot be made as to who gets what port, the players may enact a best of 1 game of Rock Paper Scissors. Winner gets their port selection, loser selects any other port.
*Neutral Start: Either player may enact this rule. Once enacted, both players may only use one of the two “Neutral Starting Positions”. A best of one game of Rock Paper Scissors may be used to determine who gets the higher port. If one player elects to Contest Port Priority and the other elects to Neutral Start, Neutral Start takes priority.

Omg yes! Thank you very much guys for hosting in this date. Super mega confirmed. See ya all there!!!

P.S: Why is Delfino legal and not Halberd? Mr. William Walsh I sense some bias in that call! Jk lol, but why though?

P.S2: Why don't we run SKTAR2 stage list? I'm pretty sure we all want to be ready for that tourney, and based on the date, this event is a good chance to practice up for it. Sktar2 SL is Apex's but without Halberd & Delfino.

I have no problem banning both stages :D Also, this stage list was tested out at Mage Monthlies with Alex Strife, and people complained about this stage list the least.

Amazing job getting this venue's reputation built up. It just might be more popular to have brawl than melee there.

So not only do we have CT ZeRo, Mr. R, APEX | Vinnie...we also have LoF NAKAT and Nairo looking to be at this event. Talk about an amazing event before SKTAR2!! And like we have said on Facebook, Team CROSSFIRE will have CT ZeRo and Mr. R verse each other. We hope that they will meet in Bracket, but if they don't we will have them do an exhibition match on STREAM! And of course we got CLASH Tournaments Streaming for us, so you know we bring the hype!

I'm kind of new to all of this tournament stuff, but me and my friend were looking to come. Do we have to sign up before hand or just come on the day?

Hey! A group of 3 of us is looking to enter the tournament, 1 entry for P:M doubles and 1 entry for brawl singles!
And so I have a couple questions,
Since we all use one wii, if we bring in that wii with Project M and a Brawl disc, would all 3 of us get the discount or just one of us?
And
Do you even need anymore wiis as of now or no?

Also we're a bit new to the tour scene but question, why wouldn't we be using the most updated version of P:M?
thanks!

PM version 2.5 is indeed the latest version. 2.6 is likely going to be out by the end of July but it's unclear as to whether that will be before the 20th or not. Hope to see you at the event.

Ahh okay, but the original post states All Setups must run Project M V2.5
My question is wouldnt it be optimal to run 2.5b as 2.5b is the latest version? (unless 2.5b is implied with the original post)

Yeah I think they mean the demo. There's a ton of different little versions of PM but it seems the demo is the main one.

I feel like 2.5b was implied, since its the latest version.

One setup qualifies for one discount! So it will only be good for one person. We need TV's just as much as we need Wii's! The more the better =)

And yes, it should be Project M 2.5b, the current version that is used in tournaments. See you guys there!

Any questions leading up to the event, you guys can get in touch with me on smashboards, or Facebook at www.facebook.com/wmwalsh.

With Project M 2.6 confirmed for a release date later today (hype!) including Metaknight, I assume we'll be using 2.6? Will be interesting to see how the patches/adjustments in 2.6 affect performance in the tournament.

To clarify, 2.6 will not be out long enough to be tournament ready. People have been practicing 2.5b, so that's what we'll be using. Again, we will be using PROJECT M VERSION 2.5b!!!

Expect 2.6 at all future CROSSFIRE events and sub-series though!

And feel free to bring an extra SD card with 2.6 to test it out in the time allotted for friendlies after P:M singles!

And what train(s) do you need to take?

If you're coming from Manhattan, simply go to Penn Station and take an LIRR train to Mastic/Shirley! There should be a "Montauk" line that will take you there. Be sure to get in touch with one of us beforehand if you plan to do so, that way if you want to be picked up from the Mastic/Shirley station we can exchange phone numbers.

Or if you'd rather just call the store, here is the BattleGrounds Shirley store number: (631) 772-6786
