CEO Winterfest 2014
Saturday February 1st
Allure Resort Orlando (FL)
Hosted by Alex Jebailey and the Gaming Knights at UCF

Over the past weekend, smashers from all over Florida traveled to Orlando in search of a victory at CEO Winterfest, a large fighting game event hosted by Alex Jebailey to build hype for CEO 2014. Most of the current Florida PR players showed up, along with a few old school Florida players came out. Most of the Top 8 matches were Miami (Blea Gelo, LambChops, PorkChops, vs. Orlando (Harriet, Plup, Colbol, Hungrybox, Articanus), so seeing the crowd react to rivalries was amazing. Colbol ended up taking Winners Finals over Hungrybox (3-2), only to just prolong Hungrybox's comeback win in Grand Finals, where he reset the brackets (3-1), then won in game 5 of the final set!! The energy from the players reflected in the room. One of the more exciting matches to watch ended up being the Colbol vs. Plup set; Colbol had lost to Plup more than he has won recently, but placed much higher than him at APEX 2014, which left people wondering who was truly better. Colbol ended up taking the set in winners semi's 3-1. This was the first smash bros event that CEO has hosted in a few years. With 97 entrants, I think the numbers state for themselves how large the community is, especially with players traveling out of state to make it, like SS | Soft among a few others.

Who the HELL is this Apollo getting 9th in pool 4? I'm not being ironic, I legitimately want to know I have a doppelganger here in Florida.

Sounds cool.

Vids?

Renth and RockCrock still uses Ganon, right? Throw in Eikelmann and FL is the land of Ganons!

Never heard of Spider Sense! Does Linguini still play? Haven't seen him play in what feels like 3-4 years.

linguini goes by swagfactor as of recently and he's pretty inactive. he hasn't been a serious name in the ganondorf community since apex 2012.

also there are 6 to 7 active ganondorfs in florida. so florida is definitely land of the ganondorfs

this was a huge thing for florida and a bigger deal than most people realise. it was our biggest tournament in over 7 years, since MLG Orlando in 2006. It was also the most difficult event i've ever attended in florida by far, if not the most difficult tournament here since MLG Orlando.

Colbol has been playing like a top-10 player recently.
lol cept for losing to druggedfox

i mean he's long been ~top 25 talent whenever he's been active so a brief window of ~top 10 play doesnt mean anything considering small sample size yo
