So appearently i have been supporting CATS from Zero Wing for a long time but this time i have opened up a thread for it.

So who is CATS?
many of us know him from popular memes back at the early days of the internet but lets learn a bit of history.
CATS (his real name is John climen according to the Japanese version of Zero wing in one of the endings) is the main antagonist and final boss in the 1989 shooter game Zero Wing. CATS is an alien overlord who seeks to conquer our world. Though the United Nations initially signs a peace treaty to prevent him from attacking Earth, he breaks the treaty and takes over all of Japan's space colonies, sending a holographic message to their captain, mocking him for trusting him. The spaceship ZIG is then sent to take down CATS and his forces.
One of the most interesting things about CATS is his endings he has more than 30 endings in the Japanese version of Zero Wing!
But do Nintendo recognize CATS?
The answer is
Yes! Twice!

They are aware of his exsistence even though he doesnt have an appearence on a nintendo console yet they referenced him. So it is not out of possiblities that CATS can be in smash in some way or form.

Who owns Zero Wing?
Apparently Zero Wing was developed by Toaplan and published by Taito however Toaplan have died and Taito was bought by Square-Enix but there is a new company that was formed called Tatsuijin http://tatsujin.tokyo/ now this new company has the IP of Toaplan mixed with Taito they have revived their games from the grave back in 2018 which is a very good news!

Why CATS for Smash?
CATS is 3rd party villain and he is able to represent the 2D spaceship shooting games in a perfect way also he is popular even though he is an old school character but very memorable even among the people who never played Zero Wing. it can also cause a revival of the IPs to the current gaming history.

Zero Wing music collection is amazing to have in Smash!
1 - default color of CATS of course however there is something important i have to mention we have not seen CATS legs in any of his sprite its covered with the purple cloak so to solve the issue of the missing piece of the design we have to use Ludwig legs design for CATS which would be fitting as he is the main villain in the PC version and would be the best option to complete the design of CATS
2 - the main character of zero wing Masato
3/4 - Captain and Operator
5 - the main villain Ludwig in the PC version
6 - Syden the villain partner to Ludwig in the PC version
7 - Aira basically the Princess Peach version of Zero wing that has to be saved in the PC version
8 - the female version of Operator i guess? from the PC version
