Basically, me and a bunch of friends over the course of the last few months have started up a sort of card tournament. We first started out with Cribbage, but everyone got tired of it eventually. Then, we moved onto Euchre for the time being. Anyway, it got me interested in finding some more involved card games beyond the typical ones. However, its difficult to find any card games out there that are not extremely luck based.
I decided to make up my own card game that would be a lot more strategic. However, with the deck of cards it can still bring in a lot of variation for the game. If interested, give the game a read:
Anyone else make up any card games or have any interesting ones to share. I am always up for more strategy based solitaire games instead of the started "Solitaire" game.

Its a game for two people only. Requires a full deck of 52 cards including the jokers and some adequate space to be able to place and pick up cards a lot. You will be playing on a "field" of a 4x4 card space. The deck gets divided into all red and all black cards. One color for each player. You place the jokers on opposing corners of the field. Then, each player draws 10 cards from there deck and gets to place 5 cards face down on the field keeping the remaining 5 cards for their hand.
The orientation for the 5 cards on the field is around the joker. Two cards directly adjacent to the joker, then 3 more cards directly adjacent to the two other cards. After each person has placed the cards turn them over and you can start playing.
The objective is to take the opposing player's Joker by attacking the other player's cards. Each turn you may do only one of the following:
-Attack your opponents card which are directly adjacent to one of your own. No diagonal attacks allowed.
-Move one of your cards to a vacant spot on the board. Only adjacent moves allowed and only one square movement at a time.
-Spawn a card in an adjacent vacant spot to your Joker.
If you cannot move or spawn a card you are forced to attack whatever is available for attacking.
The rules for attacking are pretty straight forward. Imagine King beats Queen, Queen beats Jack, Jack beats 10, etc all the way down to Two beats Ace. Then, you wrap around and ace beats King. With this cyclical cycle any card can only attack a card 3 values down below it or itself. For example, a two can attack a two, ace, king, and queen. However, if a two attacks a two they are both removed from play. If the two attacked a king, then the two takes the place of the king on the field and the king is removed from play. Additionally, any card can attack and take the Joker, but the Joker can attack any card as well. Plus, the joker can move like any other card (a mobile spawn point lol)
At the beginning of your turn if you do not have 5 cards, then you draw to maintain 5 cards. If you have 5 cards at the start of your turn, you cannot draw another one.
Thus, the game continues until you take your opponents joker even if you cannot play anymore cards or have none in your deck or hand. Should neither player be able to completely make a valid move, then the game ends in a draw. Plus, if you end up with a situation where neither side can get an advantage like say having only jokers left on the field, then its a stalemate and a draw.
