This post is about captain falcon users. If you are still new to Ssb64 (by new I mean playing on the 64 alone or rarely with friends) than this will help you understand how to improve your captain falcon.
1. Up-air while in the air hitting up performs a kick. This kick can be directional and aimed for extra punishment, practice that kick until you master it. The kick is perfectly combined with pivots if your quick enough.
2. Pivot. Pivoting is essential with captain falcon. To pivot, run in 1 direction and instantly click the opposite direction and release the joystick. Pivots are useful for speed guarding, pivot grabs and lining up airs. To train pivots go to practice mod on Fox's ship.
3. Z cancel. Z canceling is when you push z (or R) right before landing an aerial attack. It cancels the landing delay and allows players to move and react at exhausting speeds. To train z canceling, go to kirbys world in training mode, fall off the platform with an forward air (double kick) run and jump with another forward air to the opposite platform and repeat. With practice you can accomplish both kicks in 2 seconds. Kick, land, run, jump, kick, land = 1 session. Do at lease 100 successful sessions per day.
Online. Playing Online is essential for improving training. Using a PC with a usb to 64 converter will allow you to use your personal controller. (I use superpad, personally it's the best and most durable controller out there.) download a multiplayer emulator and you can play online against other players. But be warned, if your not prepared, you will not survive.
