ugh...

why dont one of yous actually prove that DI makes the slightest bit of difference when sonic grab/pummel releases ness. Because i couldnt find any method that changed how far he slid. DI seems to only affect releases when he is held above the ground AND ground breaks

There is right now NO confirmation on whether Marth can Dash Grab Ness but it seems that it is a No for now, my sister couldn't do it and I could not do it to her...

As for Sonic's:

I tested DI on sonic's and it doesn't seem to do anything, Make sure your brother is Spot dodging as fast as he can.

Anyway. This may work.

Hm. I was thinking about that - I guess Ness could DI out of Marth's, but he has float space. Sonic is low to the ground, so if it did work, the difference in distance would be minimal.

That frame data in the video might have solidified it.

Not so sure about that. As I was testing with my brother today, Ness could jab at out of it (with proper DI, no EIDI needed) I also attempted spot-dodges and dodged Sonic's regrab. (I DI'd first)

The second test was SWITCHING my controller with my bro. (did you try that DJ  :))
I was sonic and attempted the CG. My brother jabbed me and escaped it. He also spot dodged.

the only way someone is going to prove this is escapable is by showing that Ness can react < 64 frames on 1/4 speed training. i tried it multiple times and that was the lowest i could get. so until then, nothing ness can do will escape it unless the Sonic player doesnt buffer the dash grab

Or, Ness can SGB it. (super grab break) taking very little damage. Screw 1/4, we're in for real time. (Me and my bro played a match using this, and he couldn't CG me. I either jabbed or spot dodged.

If it's possible in 1/4 it's possible in real time. Not our fault your brothers reflexes suck.

1/4 speed doesnt work when you are trying to get actual frame data, other than that, its accurate for trying moves like this

multiply my frame data by 3/5 if you want real numbers

its as close as possible to the actual stuff

EIDI works when a character lifts you off the ground and grab releases you I believe. It's like smash DI but for grabs.
It's performed like smash DI, tilt control stick and then tilt/mash C-stick direction.
I doubt it works against yoshi. Ness mains apparently only need it/use it against marth.

I don't want to sound like an egotistical person or anything but who was this aimed at?

1. my comment was aimed at DJ
2. if I remember correctly, the long and short of it is that, if the yoshi performs the grab incorrectly, than a ground break is possible. im not entirely sure tho, you should ask Mmac for clarification. he is the authority on all things yoshi

Groundbreak if you escape as Yoshi's pummeling.

I think the main reason why EIDI works on Marth is because Marth is tall and there's "float space" for Ness to escape.

It's possible to DI things like Ganon side-B if you use any of the short aerial characters.

i also heard that when yoshi grabs you, if the yoshi pummels in the first few frames of the grab, it affects where the game sees the opponent as being and makes it easier to ground break
