Can I swap motherboards of a GC and a Smash controller?

So, I really want a better controller. I know the new Smash 4 controller is very good for shield dropping, but it doesn't feel so good in my hands. Also it has the R and L-trigger problem. Can I swap the motherboards of a new Smash 4 controller and a original GC controller? (Use the case of the GCC and the motherboard of the Smash 4 controller) Will this fix the L an R trigger problem?

Yup, it's as simple as that. Just get a triwing ($3 on amazon iirc), open them both up, swap the motherboard, and screw it back together. 5min job

Yep it will work, but you might notice that it doesn't close properly on the left side. Sm4sh controller stickboxes are screwed in instead of soldered, and in order to let this screw fit there is a dent on the left trigger guide plate, the black part that is screwed on. Simply change this part on both controllers, while making sure you keep the same screws for the same shell because they have a tendency to get stuck.

So yep this part here. You should see the dent easily on your Smash controller part, near the hole.

Edit: And yes it should fix you trigger issues.
