Am i not allowed to have a username that i want? I just want to talk about SSBB.

I hope they have a microphone so i can talk to people.
Let's keep this thread on topic please.

ACCEPT that there will probably be little to no improvements with ONLINE PLAY. The majority of the people buying this game DOES NOT EQUAL the people on SMASHBOARDS or any other forum. Furthermore, we are all going to buy this game regardless of how online play turns out to be.

We will benefit the most from online by using these forums. Nintendo does not have a server, in other words... they do not have an xbox live.

They were still using cartridges when everyone else switches to discs and even after that... they used mini-discs with the nintendo gamecube. Say what you want about them being lazy or not wanting to move ahead with the times... but they are moving at their own pace and it's working for them. I am a very loyal nintendo fan... owning every console and handheld (prior to DS... which I just wouldnt have time for).

I'm sorry, to stay on topic.... I just wish I knew more of what smashboards plans are.....

Nintendo may have been last to some things but remember when Nintendo do things they do it right. I still think that Nintendo knows what gamers want and they might do something for the online, it might not have networks or servers (whatever you know what i'm talking about) but i think that they know what there doing.

Thank you! They may not have in game leader boards but they may implement something like submit score and you can go through the Wii menus or something and look at the leader board.

Well, Nintendo has to have some type of servers in order for the online play to work at all. I suppose their could be a direct connect with friend codes, but even then it has to use a server to process the requests.

I don't expect the online play to be anything on the Live level, but I also don't expect it to be completely terrible. Fun for casual fights, but for fights where a single dropped frame could mean a loss, it wouldn't be so good.

Also, the cartridges were not laziness, it was profit. Nintendo actually began development of a disk game system that would be an expansion to the SNES. In fact, it was going to be called a "Play Station," and Sony was helping them with the hardware. Wonder what that turned into.......
