But if you could see usernames and make them friends on your list using those, there'd be no need to waste your time on the forum searching. Not to mention this is about Spectator mode, and since you can't see usernames you don't know exactly who you're watching.
Your very nitpicky
Even if you could see the names on the forums, what if the The game came with 3-D glasses or a update that made the Wii cook bread! That would mean you dont have to get up and go all the way to the toaster while playing!
jk, i joke. I guess your right, but COME ON! Its not THAT time consuming.

OK im not making an impression so ill come in...

If you find a person better than you ,just practice up, half the people on brawl won't have a strategy. and then pretend some guy with the same guy and beat him, imagination could do good for some peope on this forum.

RESPONCE TO LEX15: Depends what you want in your forums, if you only want smash this has endless posibilities for that.

But it's time that could be spent scouting or training, rather than asking or looking around the forums. Depending on the way you search you may find the wrong person and other problems could occur that makes things more time consuming.

Maybe its because Im from Nintendo N-Sider forums
im actually only here because thats closed down. should i stay here or go back when it re-opens?
I'd prefer you go to both regularly

I'd prefer you go to both regularly
1) I suppose, but like i said, its not enough time to really dent your schedule
2) Maybe. the only thing i like about N-Sider better is that you get replies faster. The mods over there are evil!

LOL no worries i dont mean u. But as for the forum problem (for the first time) I agree with Meta Sonic, both have their own differences, some good, some bad.

If thats the only reason u like N-sider, then what is making you ask this question? :)

The odds of finding a person with someone else's strategy is really unknown to me, but probably low. I'm sure plenty will have a strategy against those who are actually good, for newbs and noobs won't be worth a strategy at all unless you want to play mind games. If you could see usernames there'd be no need for using imagination in the first place. It's still a bad choice.

Idk i guess i like it for more reasons. I think i like it here better, though. it seems to be more mature. This is rly getting to be an off-topic thread.
That was my specialty at N-Sider, accidentally spamming.

Here's one major probalem that would be posed for online. What happens with un-lockable characters? Will you fight someone that has an un-lockable you can't select. That would me a huge spoiler for those of us who prefer not knowing the characters prior to un-locking them.
A solution I thought of is that Wi-Fi is only available after you have un-locked the entire roster. My other solution, which I would say is more plausible is that you choose a character prior to a match, and you cna only be matched with someone whom has selected a character which is currently on your roster. The first thing I'll do with Brawl is go online and play with my friend in a team match.
If you don't want a spoiler just don't go online intill you unlocked everything.

From what I've seen from Nintendo so far, I thought Brawl would have a weak online system too, with only regular matches, with some extras to those matches when playing with a friend online. But its much more than I expected.

I think Brawl will support nearly every gamemode in Brawl when playing online with friends, and have basic chat support, including after the match chatting, and messages in taunts. I think the amount of game modes will be way smaller when playing with anyone, but from seeing how there's a mode called Quick Brawl, Spectator, and (I presume it'll be in)Full Brawl, there might be much more to it.

I think Brawl will be a revolution in the Nintendo online history. After seeing how they included unimportant modes like Spectator and Homerun contest to the online area, I have no idea what Brawl will have in store for us.

Ya most people compare it to games like halo3 and talk about how bad it is, but its actually very revolutionary. Oh and to talk about that secret character thing, i've already explained about it on this thread, but i think it will be an outline of the character, but it will be blank, like the "Challenger Approaching' Screen.

I truly didn't expect this thread to be this big, WOW.

Comparing games is just one of the things that can ruin lots of fun in a game. Try not to, you'll have more fun. If I'd compare Melee with Brawl, I'd say Brawl will be superior to Melee. But Melee is still an amazing game in itself. So is its older brother SSB64.

Anyway, how big will the chance be that Adventure Mode will go online? IGN anounced Sonic AND online adventure coop. They were right about Sonic, since he's been anounced. But online coop mode still has to be anounced. Or will it never come in the first place. Try to think about that from Nintendo's view, not ours. Since I guess many people here will think its useless and boring.

I'll take a stab at this. Do you guys think their will be a rivals feature? Like MPH? Maybe when you both agree to add each other you will be able to see his/her name. Or what about tourney mode online? Where it's ranked and records are kept. I mean its tourney so why wouldn't it have some sort of leaderboard or do you think there will be a leaderboard system similar to M&S olympics . Also I know you won't be able to see the names in Anyone Mode but what if they had some sort of level system so you can tell how good your opponent is so you have some idea as to who your playing. Hope this helps further discussion....I tried.

did anyone even read my post? Go back to page 1 its all there. We will have a ranking system and online tournements, and a lobby where games are created and people join. There will be 0 lag because there is 0 lag in Super Mario strikers, and thats not made as well as brawl.

Read me post on page 1

Mastermind, it's not all like strikers , there will be a LITTLE lag but as much as games for the 360.
I do think there will be a ranked, and tournament parts of brawl but we don't know, don't get peoples hopes up.

As I said before, no ranking will be there and the online needs major work. None of your arguments have been able to prove my statement wrong either.

This argument will never end, will it Meta sonic?

Seriously , though Barawl is a super smash that is online, It is Nintendo, stop exepting so much, cause it is getting some peopel down.

I'm only expecting what should be implemented and I'm sure others will agree. We've all been waiting for years to have an online smash and once we're granted with it, so many mistakes are made that could be corrected before release. Don't blame me for arguing, blame Sakurai for his decisions.

Still we hope the delay was for an online reason, but we never know.

Exactly. Meta has very valid points, but no game is perfect. Sakurai COULD'VE just NOT HAD Wi-Fi. We should be thankful.

I doubt it was for anything of the sort. Atleast in my mind if it is something for online it definitely won't be the needed corrections. They seem to be going along with the mistakes as the updates continues to confirm them.
