Look alll I'm saying is that would you rather have 3 pre-done messages to use to "talk" or would you rather have a silent game. People will find a way to make online intensly fun, but remember this is Nintendo we're talking about, not microsoft, it's not a 360 game. Don't take online brawl for granted.
If I'm not mistaken the text will be for friends only. Other than the forums how will you be able to communicate. I'm not taking anything for granted. But it's obvious Nintendo needs some form of communication for their online games. They made a headset for DS, so what's the problem with the Wii?

Believe me, at some point it'll be done. I dont think voice chat was established on year one with DS.

I really wish Nintendo would grow some balls, and take a chance with the wifi play in Brawl. I get that they are trying to appeal to everyone, but here lately, they seem to forget their core friends, those of us who stuck with them through the darkest days of the Gamecube.

Yes, because Nintendo is slow in that department. I wasn't shocked to see no headset for MOH or Bwii. Critics mainly pointed out that it was need for games like those and that's probably why some of their scores weren't higher than they are. They are good games, but chatting would make them better

Many people on this forum that say" SSBB is sucky cause it's got no chat, Halo 3 had chat, and that makes SSBB sucky" You guys are missing the point. Lex15 got it pretty good, the chat is for taunting , and maybe a few other things, but c'mon even in Team there's no strategy to discuss, by the time you'd say something like that your teammate would be dead. It would almost be better to use IM between matches then to actually include chat, because even if they did, only about half would have it, and it would be boring. Nintendo is a little slow but they aren't idiotic, they have reasonable limits, even if they stop a little short.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like chat too, but you don't seem to see that it wouldn't be that big of an addition considering what kind of game Brawl is, and that IT DOESN'T NEED CHAT.

Then why not put the text in with anyone mode too. Another bad decision made. Even when there's some type of communication they make a bad decision. And does reasonable limits really stop them from adding chat to the other games I've mentioned and games like Mario Kart Wii and others yet to come?

Look Sakurai has to please Nintendo's Child friendly video games, and i don't bblame him for wiping all internet stuff with the "with anyone" option. Why are you talking about this anyway there will be like 30 threads to get wii friend codes for brawls so it's all cool.

A headset probably will probably come in due time, but not before brawl, your blaming Nintendo too much. Why complain if they wouldn't have enough time to make it for brawl.

Only because they decided to put the friend code thing in Brawl, many hate FCs so I guess it's another bad decision. Child friendly? If you want Child friendly then make restrictions for the kids. With the delay they had enough time to make them for Brawl.

First off, friend codes are the way Nintendo handles Wi-Fi so if you expect it not to be in a game, then you should expect no Wi-Fi, it doesn't take that long to enter friend codes, and you never know what Sakurai has up his sleeve, I mean he IS Masahiro Sakurai.

Did I also mention that MOH doesn't use friend codes. Says so at IGN

We don't know yet, but you may be able to play Co-op with friends, and i think online home run might signify something.

Those only signify records like in Mario and Sonic.
Thats because your playing with random people you dont know.
Go read the review. You have someway of knowing who your friends are and where they are playing without usage of FCs

And also tell me if you get this feeling to , but I feel like Sakurai is hiding something big, and he probably won't announce it for a while.

Oh, without a doubt, in my opinion.
He just has this way of wording things, and it DOES make me think hes hiding some things.
maybe i just think too much :p

I certainly sure that none of these things have anything to do with online chatting or communication for that matter. I did answer lex's response by telling him about that system on MOH. If you want to know more, read the reviews. I still think they need to ste up and take a challenge.

Sakurai has also hinted at 2 secrets he hasn't revealed yet.

1- He said there was a way to power yourself up to take out the enemies in Adventure mode, I doubt he means final smash.

2 - The coins you get in classic, and bet on in spectator have a bigger use

And hopefully he has a cool online mode ready to show too!

I'm sure they'll have many things for online mode, but it still needs a lot of work and some corrections. Like Spectator mode. Say you've played someone and you want to study them or learn their playing style b/c they gave you a hard time. How would you do that, considering you have no clue what his display name is? A very marvelous choice Sakurai. Bravo!!/sarcasm

Ahem, Um perhaps instead of being obsessed with one character, you can train to get better overall, that was probably Sakurais intention; not to have people that do that, brawl players aren't supposed to be the karate kid.

It's not really being obsessed. You can train to get strong, by watching someone play and figuring out their style. Once you figure out their style, you develop one of your own to beat theirs. You scout them, learn them, and then you beat them.

true, I used to very to all different characters, but when competitive smashing, I think It'd be best to have your own special main. It is also my belief that when you main a character, he/she should be having an alt. color (like my Jiggs with manly green headband)
... Wait... what do either of our posts have to do with online again?

But I'm just saying, it is one person, isn't the point of online to play all sorts of people.

Yes, but there will occasionally be some out of the population that you'd make your rival. Sure you play everyone, but not everyone is good or matches up to you. If you had the usernames seeable you could then use them to add to your friends list instead of friend codes.

I think of brawl online as something to do when im bored and i got 20 hours to kill.

And to respond to metasonic there would be a much better chance of wanting to make your rival someone on u're friends list, or someone who told u on forums that he was better than u.

what im saying, is that you search the forums for a rival, and make him/her your rival.
But if you could see usernames and make them friends on your list using those, there'd be no need to waste your time on the forum searching. Not to mention this is about Spectator mode, and since you can't see usernames you don't know exactly who you're watching.
