We need to put the ping back on the bat sweetspot, and I vote yes for putting yes on the new smaller knee sweetspot. Both should be extremely easy to do.

Kid tested. Parent approved!

Sakurai shouldn't get the final say in anything. Otherwise Smash4 will only have Dedede, Kirby, and Metaknight. And they'll all be top-tier.

I think he was high during Melee development, which explains both the insanely competitive nature of the game, and the fact that Kirby was bad.

I'm more interested in taunt cancelling myself, but I forgot how it worked in 64. Should be easy to implement ourselves in PSA.

Ledge size reduction/Ledge grab range reduction seems a lot harder until we figure out what determines it.

Basically, in 64 the taunts can be canceled by the "almost falling over the ledge" animation, and that animation can be canceled into anything.

I think taunts could only be cancelled if you ran to the left or right.

You could implement it, but getting it to cancel right after the desired SFX so they still play would be hard for every taunt.

And I would like to see a small star appearing when you fastfall, just like in 64. I think it's a good addition to show that you actually fastfalled, instead of having to feel it.

Speaking of critical changes, we now have the ability to determine what sounds play when, easily. The most vital Captain Falcon change we can have is him saying "YESZ" when he sweetspots with a knee, correct?
Make him say "oops" when he flubs one.

Flubbing is currently rarer than sweetspotting.
I can't stress enough how mission critical this change is.

IT HAS TO HAPPEN!

I had a personal set with every taunt having IASA at the start that you could only cancel into a dash... It was the greatest thing ever...
Wasn't true taunt canceling, but taunting, dash, dash cancel, taunt, dash, dash cancel, taunt and so on was the closest I could imagine.

Then my computer crashed and I lost the set <_>
Too lazy to redo it...

Oh wow this makes so much sense.

+1 vote for YESZ on Falcon's fair. The homerun bat sound was done for Ness, why not do something similar for Falcon?

There is a file for the scripts of common actions among all characters, right? Can we just edit that to make all taunts cancelable?

I rather all the needs of b+ get fixed/added first then they go back and add taunt cancels and sound effects etc

I really would like to hear some feedback on these. They kind of got lost at the page turn.
I just watched your second and first match. You don't do any spacing at all.. you were just sitting there and waiting, playing a very reactionary game; you were still playing vbrawl style. Bowser plays a very defensive game, but that doesn't mean you should sit and wait; you need to space your ftilts and fairs like an Ike, constantly throw them out to protect yourself. You're also letting the falcon player read you really easily, too. I really hope someone else can confirm what I'm saying to make me seem like less of an ***.

So my judgment is that.. you need lots more practice before you can tell the backroom what they need to do with characters.

Lol, pressureing with bowser... fail. Bowser lives on mistakes and mind games... otherwise hes ****ed...

So, no comment on the Snake ideas?

@kupo:
I'm pretty sure GHNeko meant on frame 14, being the first frame in which hitboxes appear on Falcon's Knee. I figured we could move that to frame 17 or something, just to make things a little more difficult to time...for a while.
Speaking of his knee, why don't we give the third hit of his jab combo and his grab pummel the "electric element," too--you know, for consistency? :p

pressuring with bowser is not fail. You just need to learn to use him well >.>
Pressureing as in keeping up the attack to push back the enemy and damage his shield? Because bowser has like 3 moves that are safe for pressureing... and lacks speed to keep the pressure on like other chars... Again needing the other guy to skrew up and mind game him to keep the pressure up without getting shield grabbed or just strait up out speeded.

Bowser wants to get attacked so he can counter the attack (attack=mistake) he rarley wants to initiate the attack because like I said he has 3 or so moves that can be used with any saftey. Spaceing /= pressureing

On the topic of crawling, Dantarion, do you know how to fix it so characters can pseudo-wavedash in both directions properly? It's really annoying.

Crawl Speedup + SA would definately make his approach better (but really, I think it should only be as fast as his run at most). I still support the HA on Nair and Dair to relieve pressure from below easier (and maybe Nair could hit the opponent upward to potentially reverse the situation).

Is this going to be implemented? Because I don't really like the wavedashing part of it.
If you are referring to Dantarion's video, then that sliding effect more than likely comes from how silly fast that crawl was. I haven't heard anything from the WBR about speeding up his crawl at all, but I doubt it would have a remote slide effect if he attacked from a crawl because it wouldn't be close to that fast. That was like faster than Sonic.

If you are referring to the whole "pseudo wavedashing" thing, then that is crawldashing. It has been in the game since vBrawl. You get a wavedash-like slide effect when you crawl in the opposite direction you are currently traveling. In vBrawl you could only crawldash from a walk, however B+ allows you to do it from a dash because you can crouch canceling a dash, and therefor cancel a dash into a crawl.

For whatever reason though you can only get an effective slide from it when you are running/walking to the right and then cancel into a crawl moving to the left. If you are running to the left and try to crawldash you get practically no slide, and it hinders the usefulness of an EXCELLENT character specific AT.

If you haven't tried crawldashing, pick Luigi or Sheik and just run to the right, crouch cancel and immediately crawl left and release the crawl. You get a big slide from them. I think Sheik is so effective because of her speed, and Luigi gets it from his wonky physics. Being able to do it out of a dash also opened it up to more characters like Squirtle, Diddy, and Yoshi but their slides are much smaller (which leads me to believe that it is a largely running/crawling speed related thing, with the exception being Luigi).

Crawldashing is something the WBR has been wanting to fix, so people don't have to worry about that one not getting one. It's been known it only really works in one direction for some stupid reason; its just a matter of getting a fix to work. Hopefully PSA would be able to make a fix, but who knows...

No, the speeding up of the crawls is fine, it's just the fact that the superslidy part he gets. I know what crawldashing is and that's fine, but I don't like the remote sliding effect from the crawl from just standing up.

I don't really know...for some reason it's bugging me...

I think it's just kind of like a super OP version of crawldashing...and it would make really good characters like wario have an unnecessary buff...

maybe I'm just spouting out random stuff. @_@
