Brawl may be a tad more expensive

So for those that have prepaid... hmm.

I guess it's possible, but Nintendo did state they plan to release all first party games at $50, rather than increase the price of games like other companies are. Brawl could be an exception since it will sell regardless and has higher development costs than most games for whatever reason.
I also remember Nintendo stating stuff like this in pre-launch stages:

1) The Wii will be priced "under $200"... Except that it's not.
2) All Wii titles will support progressive scan... Except that quite a few don't.
3) All Wii titles will support 16x9... Except that again, quite a few don't.
4) The Wii will support 802.11b and 802.11g... But many reports say it's 802.11b only.
5) The Wii will have full online capabilities... Well, maybe someday.
6?) The Wii will be "comparable" to other consoles of the same generation, only without the HD support... I won't deny that the Wii is fun, but I'm not deluding myself in how much power is under the hood.

Do anyone see where I'm going with this yet?

Considering this game already contains about 3 times the magic of others (!), I will happily pay anything below 100 bucks :p

Highly doubt Brawl will be more expensive for us. It's just likely to be a regional thing. Also, I would wear that master hand glove to bed every night...

Well... it's possible Brawl might finally be where Nintendo picks up the ball they dropped known as "Online chat." Granted you'd probably only be able to do it with friends, but that certainly beats "not at all." So if that's true, perhaps it's because it will come with an as of now unannounced headset? That would certainly make the 10 dollar difference... while keeping up the promise that the games are at or under 50 bucks. Peripheral would certainly make up for it.

Although, personally, I would love it if Brawl had a "collectors edition" like Bioshock or Mass Effect. It could come with an OST or some awesome swag of some sort. Just a hope though, and I'm figuring the first is far more likely.

Haha, headsets.
Like this?

Headsets would be cool, but sort of distracting, don'tcha think?

They're not distracting when you're playing halo and such. So why would they be distracting now.

I'd buy it for $100 if I had to. I wish Nintendo released a limited edition of the game. Come on, everyone's doing it!

ok seriously guys, I would not pay 150 and 200 for this game. That is ludicrous. I have COD4 and it was 60 dollars, and it actually HAS a good online mode. OH BURN!

60 dollars seems a bit expensive.
However, I do have a 20 dollar gift card that I am planning to use.

Considering my parents don't plan on paying more than 50 dollars for a game, the peice can go as far as 70 dollars as far as I'm concerned. I'll still either pay regular price, or below.

I preordered and prepaid my copy of SSBB, and it came up to $59.99, and I live in Canada. This was good, because a few games like Ice Age 2 was around the same price. And since the U.S. and CA Dollars are at par...it should be similar for you American smashers.

Limited edition would be cool, but whats the point in having it? What difference would it have?

some of us already payed full price($50) for our preorders. Gamestop wouldnt screw us over by increasing the price a month before.
Yes, they would!

Would anyone really consider not purchasing Brawl for a measly $10? Seriously, most people on this board are obsessed with this game too much that even a $50 dollar increase wouldn't stop them from purchasing Brawl. Heck, I would pay $200 for Brawl (obviously though Nintendo won't be stupid enough to boost it's price more thant $10 lol).
You'd have to have lacking bank credits, or not care about the game that much.

Everywhere I've gone, Brawl was tagged at $50. Maybe it's just a location problem?
Yes, it is. Remember: Most game stores and gaming magazines were DUMB ENOUGH to believe Brawl would be a launch title, then come out in June 6th. Hell, a few game stores thought they'd get Brawl on December 3rd if they advertised it! >_<

im not gonna lie guys...a master hand glove would be sick
I'd pay a extra $30 for it. Hell, I'd pay $30 more for a Crazy Hand one, and a Ancient Minister one! >_<

Wait a second. Nintendo already stated that all 1st Party games developed under them would only cost $50. All ports and Multiplatform games could sell for $60. I don't think they would screw those people who went by that mentality.
1. Nintendo said Brawl would come out December 3rd. I'm not playing it, so they must have LIED DELIBERTALEY!

2. They said Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl were launch titles. FAIL!

3. They said the Wii was $200. It was $250 with Wii Sports. I prefer the $200 version with NO WII SPORTS!

Limited edition would be cool, but whats the point in having it? What difference would it have?
IT'S AWSOME! Get videos of the people making the game, going in detail about it, talking about everything-heck, even basic strategies and stuff. They could have interviews of ALL the Brawl musicians, Sakurai, and so on. They had that with Halo 3 and the Mega Man: 15th Anniversary Edition. It'd be neat to have with Brawl, though unlikely! :) O, and of course..well..a commertive launch thingy, like with Super Mario Galaxy.

And why SHOULDN'T Brawl cost $60=??? If you aren't willing to pay for it, then you don't want it. That's your f***ing problem. $10 is hardly anything! And if you don't have the money-go make it, or save up! >_< It's a 20% price increase-get over it.

And EPF, great find! ;)

Another Cali resident eh? I've had good luck with the EB Games down in Central Cali so hopefully they'll keep the price in a sane range. Or add a Master Hand glove.

Everything in Japan is priced higher. I think when I spent some time there, Resident Evil 4 was still 7000 en for a brand new copy a year after it was released! I wouldn't worry about Brawl being expensive in the United States, it will still be 49.99 I'm sure~

when your preorder pays for the game it usually guarentees the lower of the 2 prices
