Brawl may be a tad more expensive

Just revealed recently, the Brawl Box art, which is old by the way, has been revealed on the dojo and Nintendo.co.jp Wii game page. As I looked through, I noticed the pricing of the game was at 6,800 yen. The average game would usually cost 5,800 yen. Out of sheer curiousity, do you think that this price increase could affect the final MSRP of the US version? Or is it an invalid transition?

Not that it matters, I would gladly cough up 59.99 for the game if I had to.

well thats strange...
5800 yen is for current Wii games as well though?
but you are right that it does'nt really matter... maybe there have been so many preorder's that Nintendo decided to up the price of the game? idk...

Well coming from the UK, I'm expecting the game to retail at £39.99. Other titles are usually at the £35 mark when they are released, but since this is Smash, I'm expecting the £39.99 price tag.

some of us already payed full price($50) for our preorders. Gamestop wouldnt screw us over by increasing the price a month before.

I preordered for $38. I got a sweet deal. It's still interesting to see if its more money. If so, we can expect a useless update about that.

Even though it's unlikely, it's still possible. The development cost could possibly br a little more exponential than normal, but I really doubt that.

Either way, Ninyendo is getting a good cut os cash from this. The game is less than a month away from a release.

Also: The Wii can use a USB compatable Key Board to type with. You can use a USB converter piece for a non USB Key Board. The Wii used to be my primary means of internet use since my computer scrwed up, but I'm actually texting this on my friends side kick. =/

This is kinda bad for me, last time I checked around here a 360 game costs around $120 USD, I hope that doesn't mean that how much I'll have to pay because that's almost all of the money I have saved.

Hopefully the stores can find it in their hearts to not rip me off.

Would anyone really consider not purchasing Brawl for a measly $10? Seriously, most people on this board are obsessed with this game too much that even a $50 dollar increase wouldn't stop them from purchasing Brawl. Heck, I would pay $200 for Brawl (obviously though Nintendo won't be stupid enough to boost it's price more thant $10 lol).

I think it's a location thing. Even a $10 increase would be a pretty stupid and unnecessary marketing move, seeing as it'd be the only Wii game at that price and Nintendo wants to appeal to it's wide audience of impulse-buying casual gamers.

$60 = £30. Most games cost £35 here, but I guess that's the economy for ya.

I expected it to be 60.00 so no worries.

Best idea would to preorder right now for 50.00 and you then for sure will get it at 50.00.

The price tag is usually the LAST thing that I care about when I think about Brawl. We will all buy it anyways.

So for those that have prepaid... hmm.

I guess it's possible, but Nintendo did state they plan to release all first party games at $50, rather than increase the price of games like other companies are. Brawl could be an exception since it will sell regardless and has higher development costs than most games for whatever reason.

I doubt it will have anything to do with something being packaged though, I mean, there is not much you could package with this game...

Yeah, I payed almost 45.00 for Melee, and my parents said i could get whatever I had desired other then what I got for Xmas.

So, in that fashion, idc.

But most big title Wii games are in the 50-60 range anyways.

I'm not prepaying, I'm getting it from Wal-Mart first thing!

Wait a second. Nintendo already stated that all 1st Party games developed under them would only cost $50. All ports and Multiplatform games could sell for $60. I don't think they would screw those people who went by that mentality.

I already paid my full $50 online. I got it from Best Buy, and I'm sure they will inform me if they want $60 instead because I'm really low on cash.

...and wait, making us pay more for a two-month delay? Why not compensate and satisfy us with the 'normal' price?

Not that I should complain since Brawl will be one heck of a game.

I'd buy it for a hunderd no problem. I mean its not just a game. Its a god. Anyways I got $100 bucks as a gift sooo...

Edit: OMG Master hand glove would be beast. Imagine if it came with two. That would be sooo fun to be holding the gc controller with your "Master Hands" Killing everyone with your kick *** newcomer in Brawl. Exaggeration but...

Nintendo's games don't go higher than 53 bucks, man.. Even if its wanted by smash players around the world, the price won't go higher than that..
