Made this 0-death demo vs a dummy the other day. It's a true combo up until I chase with the Nair. Picking up the mechakoopa after it pops your opponent up but before it explodes is so satisfying. Sorry for not being able to hyperlink it; account is new.

I remember seeing a really interesting Japanese Bowser Jr -- I think during the invitational not too long ago where the grand finals were Sheik vs Greninja. Can anyone find that vid?

Oracle switched from ROB to Jr against Jumpman's mario in gf of the weekly Tourney Locator tournament this week. I can't post the link because I don't have enough posts, but you can find it under past broadcasts of the TourneyLocator Twitch channel. Jr play starts around 5:16:00, but it's worth watching the whole set if you want to see Jumpman put in some serious work with Mario.

I recorded about 8-10 videos, some of them are completely unwatchable. I'm using a sony cybershot and should have turned off the tracking focus, probably would have helped. will do in the future.

Definitely play better when I'm not reaching around a camera and trying to hold it stable, but there should be some flashes of brilliance in there (with commentary that's basically useless)

Thoughts or changes you can see me making to my game? Something I use too much/too infrequently?

You can just save the replay then record the replay later with commentary.

OK I watched most, if not all of these. A few things I noticed...

Against Mario, even though he was caping your Mechakoopas quite a bit, you were still throwing them out there very often. I do this too, even though it bites me sometimes. I feel like just having the mechakoopas on the field and making your opponent react to them by shielding, caping, etc. gives us a bit of an advantage. I'm very pro mechakoopa lol, and feel it's a great tool (as do you apparently!) Obviously if I'm getting destroyed with them I slow down, but that definitely didn't happen.
Also, the kill where you were both hit with the mechakoopa and then you killed with with the uair was pretty sweet.

Loved the dair kill against Mario. I feel like dair is a great offstage tool, as you can drag someone down with you, or just really throw an opponent off if it only hits partially. I was waiting for some of that against ROB (or even a kart eject) when he was trying to recover vertically. I feel like the dair approach can be really unsafe at times though.

The fox cannonball kill was pretty funny lol.

Overall it was fun to watch. TY for uploading. It was much more enjoyable than watching JR videos on the replay channel lol.

Thanks for watching :D

"Mecha-Koopas 4 dayz"
I live by this.

As far as mario goes, I just assume stay the course and continue with the koopas, if he capes I can usually get in for a hit/grab. Something I noticed also is that 'sometimes' the cart can get through a reflected mecha koopa... I'm not quite sure how... yet. I'm still just bad at DI'ing out of the utilts that get me up to 30-40 pretty quickly.

I find myself using dtilt so much more, especially against rolling. I've even had some success shutting down little mac approaches with it.

I encountered a wario last night that gave me trouble (at first), here is what I know:

Cart loses to motorcycle 100% of the time, don't try.
Instead, if you think wario is more likely to stay on the bike, throw out an early Fsmash, it will destroy the cart and them. Cannonball WILL hit wario if he stays on the ground with the bike, mecha koopa is OKAY, but often times is too slow and results in a trade.

I mentioned not using a lot of Fairs previously, but that seemed most useful (with short hops) against wario. His aerials have a good deal of landing lag too so be ready to punish after shielding his aerials, ftilt is usually fast enough.

Watch out for his upsmash, I didn't have much luck trying to Dair it. Deceiving hit box.

Hope to have some more good replays soon. I may also start venturing to other boards and looking for mains for key matchups, any particular character you guys would like to see first?

"Mecha-Koopas 4 dayz" ........I like it!

dtilt stops ganon's warlock choke thing, as well as his grounded wizard kick (I believe they cancel out). It's pretty funny. I feel like I underutilize dtilt at times.

I really don't know much about wario to add, I've fought a few a while ago, but they probably weren't very good :|

It seems like a lot of the different boards say ZSS is one of their worst matchups, but I don't seem to have a ton of trouble with her. It's really cool that the mechakoopas go under her standard b stun gun, which helps to get the kart into play.

It might just be a personal problem, but I have a lot of trouble with Capt Falcon for some reason. It's not just tied to BJr though, but any character I've used. It's like I know what's coming, but it just seems to work lol.

On an unrelated note @ dawgbowl dawgbowl , would you be interested in playing sometime? On a day where my internet isn't acting stupid preferably (ie: not today)

New to Bowser Jr., looking for advice/critique,as I'm in need of serious improvement:

vs. :4kirby:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRzvg7TWK4w&index=2&list=UU0RMA482bkRmw4pukDNhPgQ

I was very excited when the ESRB videos leaked Junior and when the Japanese got the game a month earlier than I did, as he is one of my favorite Mario characters and one of the only two characters on my wishlist who made it in the game (alongside Pac-Man), plus the idea of fighting in his koopa clown car was soo badass that I just I couldn't wait to play him. But alas, playing him is a lot harder for me than it looks and I feel I don't really know what I'm doing with him most of the time. I think I've ot a few good ideas when playing him, but I think I'm missing something very very important and I don't know what it is, plus I don't have a lot of matchup knowledge against any of the characters I just faced (besides Mario at least) and am not used to fighting them, especially not Kirby.

Anything to help me suck less with Junior would be greatly appreciated.

Edgeguard with your up-B more. They usually never see it coming when you stand close to the ledge. Also, try using your F-air and B-air more; they're very good attacks. I highly recommend you "wall of pain" like Jigglypuff in Melee, since Jr.'s recovery can almost always save him from any horizontal distance with the Koopa Kart and up-B combined. Otherwise, you're doing everything right.

Disappointed in myself. I play poorly imo in grand finals. But enjoy the videos and let me know what y'all think.
