Bowser is so fast, how to defeat him?

I play YL and I really have trouble versus good bowser. He kills me very fast yes, but the real problem is I cant punish him. He's just as fast as my character. I cant even attack and run away because he can chase me and catch me. It wasnt always like this in previous smash games. Also his out of sheild side b is so crazy fast and kills so early its just confusing to me how to fight this person if I cant get you without getting punished. Any advice?
