Right now, i mostly play ganondorf but, want to try practicing combos more with a secondary main, who would be the best characters for this?

Any character you want to play honestly. Falcon is some what similar so if you enjoy gannon you might enjoy him too.

Ganon rarely combo's past 4 to 5 highest I've seen is 6, other characters i've seen get 8 to 12, and it's usually the top characters doing it, falcon would be a good idea, he's almost the same character but, with better combo's.
