I've noticed some trends in Ness' bad match-ups disjoints that are larger than your f-air and non energy projectiles with more range than pk fire belmonts have both of these and have walled me out so far any suggestions to help with the match-up?

Belmonts aren’t that bad once you get the hang off the matchup. I wouldn’t even call it a disadvantage for Ness. Basically try to parry his wall of projectiles, eat the fire move with PSI Magnet and straight up rush them down before they have a chance to blink. I use a lot of fast falling aerials in this matchup. Fast fall uair to grab is great because even if you forward through them off stage at low percentages their recovery is so bad you can get PK tail gimps pretty easy

Also always try to stay in the middle of the stage facing the ledge in this matchup especially. Make sure they’re in between you and the ledge. They want you on the ledge and it takes away a lot of their game if you have stage control. Their projectiles have a predictable pattern that’s usually pretty easy to avoid. Just keep resetting neutral until you have an opportunity to rush them down and get them in the air or off the edge and combo them for big damage and edgeguard them. You can also juggle them with PK Thunder for days and you can platform camp with it for a little while (be careful cause axe). I really don’t have trouble with this matchup at all anymore and I think it’s a fun one. Just try and work on this stuff. Hit them with PK Fire when you can too but don’t overuse it cause it’s gonna get heavily punished. I think there’s a matchup of Awestin playing a Belmont and I’m pretty sure he wins pretty easily. He’s always good to watch for tough matchups because he plays them really well

Basically be aggressive because they can’t take rushdown but wait for an opening and stay in neutral until you get that opening. Trust me once their projectiles stop working and you’re avoiding them they’ll get frustrated and start playing tilted and they will give you an opening

Magnet stalling, DJC pk fire when appropriate, bat. To be honest it can be rough to get in on the belmonts and they have some of the best ledgetrapping tools in the game. You can try and catch holy water if they ever use it in neutral, but thats doubtful however. You have to read their tendencies, if they up b out of shield often when pressured its an easy punish. If they dtilt, you can try and parry the second hit. It can be rough, but it goes both ways. When you do get an opportunity abuse their poor recovery options, with yoyo, pk thunder gimps, and fall down nair. They also have a hard time coming down, continue to pressure with upairs and pk thunder. I have also included some sets with Ness players in the matchup and hopefully that gives you some insight as well. Good luck!

I get stuck on the Belmonts too. My best advice is to stall stall stall. Wait for the punish and dodge the projectiles. Use PSI Magnet and stay away from PK Fire as the endlag will surely get you whipped. Also try not to drive yourself crazy with the annoying voice clip that comes from throwing the axe.
