Smash Rookie
Hey all, prae here but my friends call me Jacob. I'm 27 years old living out of Orlando, FL. My day job is a sysadmin for a medium-sized construction company and I have too many hobbies to list.
I've been playing games competitively since 2004, and was on a professional Halo 2 team for a couple of years after, and was fortunate enough to have a sponsor that allowed me to travel around to different events at such a young age. I actually remember Melee running during the 2004-2006 circuits and getting to meet many Smash players, despite knowing so little about the game. I still respected it because I've always sucked at fighting games. Other games I have played competitively include Quake, CSGO, Gears of War, WoW, and League.
Anyway, I've been watching and following competitive games again for the last 6 or 7 years. CSGO, League, Dota 2, Street Fighter, MK, the normal eSports lineup. I did photography for Jebailey at CEO from 2011 to 2015, and still attend every year. I decided to make an account here because after all this time I've decided to start taking Smash a little bit more seriously. I bought a Wii U from a friend with a GC adapter and Sm4sh for super cheap and am looking forward to improving myself. My heart will always be with Melee, but as I get older I don't have the time to practice the seemingly absurd amount of tech skill that game requires. Plus, I'm not looking to be the best in the world. I just want to be able to beat on my friends at parties and whatnot.
I'm a Falcon main, because landing his moves have always been the most satisfying to me. I love throwing out Uairs, Bairs, Nairs, stomps, knees, etc. etc. You get it, he's just more fun to me than any other character.
Anyway, that's it I guess. Looking forward to the chatter around here with TBH7 starting tomorrow.
