I'm going to this!
I just have a question. A friend wants to come, but she just wants to spectate. Is that fine if she just pays the venue fees and doesn't enter anything?

read the post jeff cmon now
If it was like last time, Kels, myself, Chris, and Cheato signed up right after another and first round I played Kelly and Chris played Cheato.
Pools are the best way to seed a bracket, doing it randomly causes really good players potentially seeded poorly.

You and everyone else you mentioned WOULD NOT be seeded randomly. I have a seed list (based on tournament results) for Melee and another for PM of ALL players who have ever competed at EXP so I would seed off of that. I would only randomize players who have never competed at EXP before. And I would listen to any feedback of the preview brackets to try and make everyone happy.

No worries.

Took one stock off Kels in P:M with my Mario.

In other words, I'm pretty damn happy.

GOD DAMN IT! Me and my friend play melee about every week and we've been starving to play other people since the last melee tourney we played was at Morton College and it was so so. Definitely would have gone had I known sooner. When are you guys going to run another?

I'll try to make it to this, and bring some semi-casuals from my school.
there'll be pools for melee, right?

Last tournament, it went straight to bracket, and I think it'll be the same because there's not a HUGE (like 50+ people or something) turnout.

But, I don't know for sure :p

Are wireless gamecube controllers allowed, if they're approved by TO staff?
Also, is "name tag" literally a name tag that we wear on our shirt or something?

Hey, I'm going to this event and I would love to Commentate if there are going to be livestreams. I'm experienced with Brawl and Melee, and know most of the terminology. I'm just looking to get my feet off the ground. I'll be there the whole time so yeah if you need anyone to commentate im in.

When does each event happen? I'd love to enter PM and Melee, but I don't get out of work until 4:00, then it's a 3 hour drive to Chicago.
