I'm beginning to see a trend. One likely character is deconfirmed as an AT, and is quickly replaced in Smashers minds by someone rediculously far-fetched. Feel free to argue with me.
Lyn Deconfirmed= MICAIAH FOR BRAWL!
Little Mac Deconfirmed= SUKAPON FOR BRAWL!
Samurai Goroh Deconfirmed= TAKAMARU FOR BRAWL!
Waluigi Deconfirmed= ASHLEY FOR BRAWL! HUH?
Changing your mind after a deconfirmation does not make your new favorites anymore likely to show up.
Micaiah seems cool, but people have just started supporting her, and its a little late for Sakurai to be adding characters.
Sukapon would be interesting, and he was on the poll, but no Americans even mentioned him until other more popular cantidates got the boot.
The same goes for Takamaru, who wouldn't be as interesting as Sukapon, as despite his "Katana", he's just another blue-haired swordsman.
And finally, Ashley. Her theme is one of the selectable themes for Wario's stage. But come on. There's really only one character who deserved to fight side by side with wario, and that was Waluigi. Ashley is a very minor character, and I think most of her supporters have never actually played the Warioware games. My idea is that all of the Warioware character themesongs will be available in My Music. Even more detrimental to her chances is the fact that Nintendo was accused of encouraging satanism by placing Ashley (a witch) into the Wario games. Their argument holds no more weight then the ones against Harry Potter, but do you really think Nintendo would risk another controversy just to put such a minor character in Smash? Probably not.
I'm not saying any of these characters won't be in the game, I just think its too late to start pulling characters out of thin air to fill roster spots that should have belonged to other guys. Who knows, maybe downloadable characters will be made available, and the deconfirmed characters and their successors will all be playable.
Finally, tingle. his absence from most people's prediction rosters is understandable, but wrong. I'm sorry guys, but he has a 90% chance of being in the game. I know that Americans hate him, but sadly, he probably is first in line for zelda newcomer, well in front of Midna and WW Link.

Stop pressuring sakurai to add random placeholders, and support more constructive ideas like Downloadble content, if you're as in denial as I am about certain deconfirmations. And start accepting that not every character who makes it will be your favorit, as millions of other people do not hold the same opinions as you, and sakurai is diligently trying to appease us all. This goes for Tingle, and in many cases Geno and **R!dl3y**. Who are popular tomany and hated by few. Or in Tingle's case, popular to japan and Europe, hated by us.
