8 Teams for the first week of doubles and 23 for the second week of singles. We saw a sharp rise in the level of competition from last week and former Champion Stoopid Target was not able to repeat his performance. A huge congratulations goes out to Linus and Hawk for winning doubles and finishing 1 and 2 in Singles. We would also like to thank all who made the trip out to compete and gain MeggaXP!

Linus and Hawk have started a winning streak! Two weeks in a row they take home the top prize in Doubles! Coming in second with Rayquaza07 and Meow who got the very exciting run back on our third place team of Kasper and Canuk. The switch from Rayquaza's Rosalina & Luma to Cloud tipped the scales into their favor getting a crack at Linus and Hawk in Grand Finals. Bk Slider and In-D are becoming quite potent gate keepers taking fourth in both doubles events!

We tried something new in our third week of events by adding small round robin pools. We had 21 entrants which meant three pools of 5 and one pool of 6 with the Top 2 making it to the top 8 bracket. Everyone else could enter the AM Bracket. Top 8 were all best of 5 sets with Rayquaza proving his might by not even dropping a single game! Linus proved to be the toughest competition by only loosing sets to Rayquaza. Kasper punched his way to third place! A large congratulations to Bk Slider for wining the AM Bracket and winning free venue at the next MeggaXP weekly! We look forward to the next week and more exciting action! Thank you all for coming please do not hesitate to message me with questions, comments, or concerns! The easiest way to reach me is to send me an email superatomicssb@gmail.com

Linus and Hawk once again proved to tough to tangle with! We had a major Michigan tournament the day prior so I was not too optimistic about our numbers. On the bright side we hit 6 teams in doubles. ShooshiMang & Tetsu a team hailing from the Spring Arbor Area upset our classic Jackson Gatekeepers in BK Slider & In-D.

AM Champion: Xizor

Wow! This was easily the most impressive MXP! We hit 21 entrants which is no small feat after a huge Michigan Tournament! Linus and Hawk went back and fourth delivering one of the most impressive shows ever seen. Due to an unfortunate glitch in the recording software the videos may not be
recoverable. That takes nothing away from what these players did and the wins they were able to accomplish! I would like to thank Josh for getting our stream up and running after literal hours of trials and tribulation. Other major thanks go out to Rascal, Heatshield, DocChoc, DatBoiDelicious, AndMan858, SooshiMang, DodoCachoo, and Scrub for making it out for their first time! Without them we would have easily had our smallest numbers.

SMASH 4 WRAP UP! For 4/9/17

Doubles Results

7. Hurricanelennon & Danjamon

MXP 9 Doubles was crazy! Linus and Hawk took it all just as expected but they had to do it from losers side! Rayquaza and Dux took them out in winners finals. This was very much unexpected as Linus and Hawk are static teammates who have an affinity for doubles. This was insanely stacked for only having seven teams! In most other seven team tournaments any of the top four teams could win handily.

I am forever humbled by the immense support this event has gotten. We hit a new high of 26 entrants! Rayquaza once again took home the victory but Kasper defeated fellow West Michigan player King James to take home second. One of the spiciest upset to happen was Meow the up and coming Falcon main upsetting number 8 on West Michigan's PR Dux. The level of play in the later rounds of the bracket with players who are somewhat unfamiliar with each other. AM bracket ended up with a total of 8 entrants with anyone placing 13th and lower being allowed to enter. Stoopid Target took home the big win in AM and will get free venue at MXP.
