Anyone remember that glitched smash bros wii u copy?

This was a pretty big topic during the beginning of smash wii u's life cycle where a single copy had a bunch of glitched characters. What do you guys think about it now? Do you guys think that it was a hoax or a personally tampered copy?

I still occasionally think about this. Since we haven't heard anything of it for years and years, I think it really was a defective copy.
