Anyone else enjoying the character drought??

I know few people are considered the complaints in the Dojo Update room. But i'm glad to see so many characters not announced--it simply means more secrets. The only downside i see to this is over-speculation and people jumping to conclusions about who's a garaunteed newcomer and a veteran retired. Keep up the good work or starving us Sakurai!!

BTW is there some way to check word count for the entire site?? If i could get the number of how many times Sakurai is typed since inception or how many times a day ftw!

No he's not holding anything back, he just moved the regular updates forward two months. (I hope only two months anyways. o_o I don't think I can survive another month of these crappy updates.)

Come January, we should see a regular flow of character updates again. It won't matter though - we'll know the full roster by the end of the month. Essentially we're guaranteed the full roster next month unless Sakurai decides to do another delay.

But anyway I atleast want that newcomer gap to be filled and I expect it to happen before the end of 2007. I mean it wouldn't be so bad if they wouldn't keep giving us f***ing filler updates like screen setting, options, how to use final smash etc.

What's the point of secrets? You have to know who's in the game in order to know how they're unlocked.

yes you do but there is an appropriate time and place for such things, and we haven't reached that point yet. also it gives us all something to speculate about. for some people it's hope--"perhaps ridley or ww link will make it in brawl!!" could be the words of a skeptic

i believe the melee site also announced secret characters AFTER the game was launched so that shouldn't really be any problem...

The thing is, there are no absolute guarantees that this could be a good thing. Yeah, I'm sure we all hope there's still half the roster still ready to be unveiled, but I'm not liking the current situation.

I just don't understand why Sakurai hasn't revealed even the most obvious of characters like Cpt. Falcon, Luigi, Ganondorf, etc. If there's plenty of other secret characters he has to reveal later on, why couldn't he have shown us these couple of characters AT LEAST as filler updates so we can clear some doubt in our minds. Now we've got to wait for Sakurai to reveal THOSE characters, along with the secret characters, and we are just running out of time to do all that.

I know he's supposed to be building hype for the game and he's got a little over a month left to do it. But come on, we've had nothing new to work with, nothing to speculate on, nothing to talk about over here, just nothing. It's quite boring, and it doesn't get me very excited...

The updates we've been getting lately (Mario Kart, Orpheon,ect) are keeping me content.
