Another Super Update from Sakurai: Sonic's Final Smash Explained

First off, Merry Christmas guys! I hope you all got the presents you wanted this year or got to be with the family members that were most important to you. While it is already known information to most of us, Sonic’s Final Smash; Super Sonic, was revealed on the DOJO today.<!--more-->

Like any other Final Smash, you get the Smash Ball and press B (if that is your control setup of course) when you want Sonic to” unify the chaos” within.

<p align="center">Be careful of course, because Sonic demonstrated some insane speed with this Final Smash at E 4 All. By just pressing the direction in any way, Sonic goes in at Super Speed. Using just inertia alone can help you hit your opponents.</p>

For those who want to live through this better be creative at dodging, because if you get someone who can control Sonic’s insane speed you’ll be having a hard time passing him up.

I suppose I can't hate this update too much, since sonic 3 is my 2nd favorite sonic game, but godammit, it's going to take some sonic CD music(and I mean the european/japanese version.) in order to wipe off the stink of this update.

Grr! I hate christmas now! Sakurai just ruined it! I'm never gonna celebrate it again! I mean, aren't I supposed to be jewi- OOHH! I just got tenkaichi 3! YAYZ <^_^>!!!!!

seriously that was an awesome remix of angel island zone in sonic 3
they should the ice world zone as a stage though and make and remake of that
now that would kickass!

I'm not really sure why people think Sakurai is going to go out of his way for a holiday. He hasn't thus far, I'm not quite sure where everyone assumes that would change? In any case, glad to get the Super Sonic out of the way, and also glad that he joined it with the awesome music piece. Jun Senou lending his talents to this tune make it absolutely fantastic.

Right before the page loaded I was like: "And the Christmas update is...*Then I saw the Sonic Icon and the red line*... ****"!

But atleast Sakurai cares for the holidays, Pumpkin on Halloween and colored gems on Christmas lol

Now, I really liked the music, but I kinda find it weird, no one here has mentioned the Knuckles line, I'm really not much of a Sonic fan, but I just can't ignore the fact he brought Knuckles up like that, it had no importance to the update, or the game at all, whatsoever, unless Knuckles were in in some sort.
Any ideas why he brought it up for another reason?

lolololol i predicted this update as i got out of bed. i said yay christmas update! then im like no, this is sakurai im dealing with, he'll probably give me something is bad as sonic's final smash. i wake up, and guess wshat I see? sonics final smash!!!!!!!!!

i suppose since we tequnically shouldnt have been recording. so, we shouldnt have seen this. and since it is OMG sonic for some people, this normally would have been a semi exciting update if we hadnt known about it. oh well, we all know it stinks. but i dont care, its christmas.

Or both. I agree though, I think the very fact that he has shown so little about Zelda cements in mind that Sheik is still with us for Brawl.

The only reason I can find why Sakurai wouldn't update Zelda is possibly the confirmation/deconfirmation of Shiek. This is something I can agree with when it comes with complaints...

I think this means Live and Learn is in this game as well, awesome! Maybe as a stage music.

Of all the updates Sakurai gives us, he gives us an update that the majority already knows about. It's like giving a rock on Christmas day. In other words, this update sucks. The music update made up for it.

Y'know, the only thing keeping the Fire Emblem lyrics from sucking is the fact that they're in Latin, maybe they should have done that for Live and Learn? :D

Also, I cracked up when I saw the update. Sakurai obviously knew this would be the Christmas update as soon as he revealed Sonic and the delay. Oh Masahiro Sakurai, you're such a silly goose.

I can't believe I stayed up until 1 AM for Sonic's Final Smash!! I was really hoping for a character, most especially The Knee. Unfortunately, (not that I'm saying the music is bad, or that Sonic's not cool.) I'm not sure why I expected something so fantastic from Sakurai? What's wrong with me?

Even the things we already knew about from E4All have to be updated eventually. It's unavoidable and you guys will have to live with that.

My complaints:
1. He could've made it a triple and given us a Sonic stage.
2. He could've given us a Zelda update.
3. He could've revealed Falcon or given us an F-zero stage or some music. (What's his deal with Falcon, anyway? The only lead to the Captain we have is the Goroh AT.)

But, it's Christmas, and I'm in a good mood today, so I'll let Sakurai go on this one.
