Am I the only one who DOESN'T want the secret characters in Brawl spoiled?

I love the suprise of unlocking a character! In melee, I only looked up spoilers when I had absolutely NO IDEA how to unlock the remaining characters, and had to look them up.

So am I the only one who's worried about spoilers?

(NOTE: I don't care about DOJO spoilers, because I know the DOJO won't tell us EVERYTHING)

No you're not the only one. Also why didn't you just add that in the Title instead of having us guess to see what you wrote. It saves me my 5 seconds of seeing repeated topics.

And by the looks of it you don't even look like you care to be spoiled, considering you put nearly every single character in your signature.

*yawn* Yes fellow Akatsuki member. I too am tired of rerun topics. I don't blame the guy though. Seeing how Sakurai took a break from updates, we.....don't really have much to talk about.

You're not the only one, but I am not one of those people. I'd like to know who's in so I know what to look forward to when I get the game. It's not like once you unlock a secret character that you didn't know about that you'll orgasm 324823943904 times out of utter shock and surprise. So I don't really see the big deal. *shrug*

Edit: And yeah, the boards are looking rather stale these days because everyone keeps posting topics about things that have been discussed a million times before. Seriously give it a rest.

Melee became boring (as in surprises, not gameplay) b/c I had everything unlocked so fast. So i'm striving to unlock EVERYTHING without internet or AR.

Depending on the character, you might.

I wouldn't put it the way you did, but imagine my shock when I randomly unlocked Mewtwo months, maybe even a year, after getting the game (yeah he sucked, but I didn't know that at the time. I mean he's MEWTWO). It was a pretty amazing feeling, as I recall. I never saw it coming.

Same thing when I was getting characters that didn't even have designated spaces on the roster. That unexpectedness is really nice to have. Keeps the game fresh.

Valid point.
I just don't really see the big deal. I mean I wouldn't be any less excited to unlock a character if I already knew about him/her. Yeah, the element of surprise is gone, but the excited feeling still remains.

I wonder...is anyone planning on writing a "spoiler free guide" on how to unlock characters? Like

To unlock characters...
Beat stage x-y of SSE.
Play 1 Vs. Mach with each default char.
etc.

To unlock modes and stages
(viable things to do go here)
etc.

It would be nice for us...though you would sacrifice yourself with the spoilers. Sorry about that.

Im thinking of not spoiling myself for the sole purpose of the wow factor in the subspace emmisary. Imagine the epicness when i notice Mario and Pit are about to die and then i see a Ball of light hit the bean that was about to kill them the screen turns toward the origin of the shooter and we see. OMG LUCARIO IN BRAWL

I'm not too concerned with spoilers, as I plan to play this game competitively and would like to know about all the characters in advance as well as much information on them as possible.

If you are concerned about spoilers then I would recommend not visiting this site until you unlocked every character or secret.

The simple fact is that you should stay away from the internet or at least the forums in a couple of weeks, to keep most of the characters secret.

If you are going to wait, just know that playing through the Subspace Emissary will let you encounter many secret characters, so this time unlocking most characters wont require you to look it up online...

You are not alone, my man. I hope to god my brother or friends don't spoil everything for me after it comes out in Japan. I look forward to having a spoiler-free brawl experience, unlike my melee or pokemon diamond experiences.

Friends spoiling Brawl? ...OH CRAP. I am friends with 3 Brawl maniacs. We talk about Brawl WHENEVER we see eachother. They will SPOIL it for me. Even if I tell them NOT to.

Nah, I'd like to get all my disappointment out of the way BEFORE I play the game. I can't imagine anything worse than trying to play the game hours on end searching every nook and cranny getting more and more desperate for your favorite char (say, Ridley) to be playable. Besides, I suck royally at finding secret stuff in games ^_^.

I might consider getting the game and unlocking just the easy ones without knowing and then checking the web after that...

...nah I'll just wait for the reveal :).

It's virtually impossible to not find a spoiler since the game is released in Japan first. Unless you stay away from the computer and all forums until the game comes out. Someone is going to post a spoiler and even if it says [spoiler!] you are still going to click it
