Chances are, no. Some of the older Poke Ball Pokemon pretty much operated in the same way anyway; for an example, Melee's Unown is basically Smash 64's Beedrill, but the Unown swarm can strike at any direction, making it more unpredictable.

Max Tomato and Heart Container are both confirmed. Tomato was in the Everyone Is Here trailer (Villager picked it up) and Heart Container is in Ganondorf's video on the official site.

i do miss onix... i don't think we've had a pokemon do anything like onix's attack since the original game.

you'd think steelix would've been a replacement at some point...
