Action Replay in Wifi

Bear with me, now, for I don't know at all how this works.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=uP1-ETK2nUM

Anyhow, on YouTube I've seen some videos like this where Master Hand, Giant Donkey Kong, and all other CPU-only characters are pitted against each other. They aren't usually unlockable without the help of an 'Action Replay' -- whatever that is.

Will this affect the way Wifi works? It sounds like it could be pretty annoying if I have to fight a metal-bunny Gordo every few times I play Brawl wifi.

Hi guys, how's it going?
It's no different than coming across a hacker on your PC online games. Most of the time they will just have something like invincibility turned on or something like that, but from what I've experienced on Mario Strikers Charged, it's not a huge issue.

At any rate, you could just disconnect if someone is suddenly attacking you with a playable assist trophy or some nonsense like that.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo wants to be notified if a child molester approaches somebody during a Normal Brawl match.
Yeah, but they made it so no one can talk to each other ever. EVER.

There's a million better ways they could have done it, but they decided a report system wouldn't be as fun for players as just not being able to speak to each other.

In random matches on wifi everything remains unknown no names or taunts. Friend matches are another story.

Gamecube Action Replay has been blocked on the Wii through a software update. I doubt they'll make an Action Replay for Wii; it'd be blocked in no time.

Hopefully Nintendo will find a way to filter hacks out of WiFi. Although I hear many people stumble across teams of wonder guard spiritombs on Wi-FI so meh.

Good thing is that there are no records on "with anyone" so you can just disconnect and all you would have lost was a minute of your time. With friend codes you'd know who that person was and i'm sure there'd be some sort of blacklist on these forums.

I read that post, but who's to say hackers won't find other ways to alter the game? They could find ways around blockages or not update their software. I'm not saying it'll definetely happen but there's still a possibility.

The Wii console has been hacked. It's fact. Code Injection seems to be possible since decryption and encryption keys have been found for the discs. Also, I'm sure somebody can make a modified (like Player2 always has 0% health), signed disc and play it online. I'm afraid online play might be ruined.

How would online play be ruined? Has any of this been done before? Don't think so.

I think you guys don't understand how it would work, your hack wouldn't affect your enemy, just only you. Meaning you could only give yourself positive benefits. But it's 99% likely it's not even possible because there's no way it would work. I reckon when connecting to a server you have to go through some sort of validation and if any data is altered it won't go through.

I believe they were able to use stuff online in Mario Kart which would normally not be available, like racing on Waluigi Pinball (though it was glitchy, you'd just fall through the tunnel that would blast you off). Nintendo won't allow this on the Wii through updates and all, it would make the AR discs practically unusable, unless you have an un-updated Wii lying around.

I have a Gamecube AR, and I love to mess around with it, but I would hate it if people found a way to avoid the updates and still cheat online because they're too lame to win an actual fair game. =/

If someone uses it, then quit the match. Its not like it'll be hard to find people to play online.

And I'm sure they are going to have some kind of safety guards in place.

A lot of games make you do software upgrades before you go online. You might find a few battles with Raquaza online for a week or two, but Nintendo will force a system update that disables the code system being used.

Games like Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy require you to update your Wii before playing. Brawl will undoubtedly do the same.

Well, if someone used Action Replay on me.. XD; I'd most likely be screwed, but it'd be amazing if I somehow managed to outsmart them in order to defeat them. XD

[****ed Quick Reply...it just won't work :\]
The only Wii game you can currently cheat with online is Pokémon Battle Revolution. It uses data from your Nintendo DS, which can be altered through DS Action Replay (or whatever cheat device they use). But Brawl does not use the DS in any way (as far as we know), so online play should be safe.
Besides, if people would be able to cheat like that - why haven't they yet in, for example, Mario Strikers Charged?

ugh, after my expirience with hackers on MPH, i wish they wont release a action replay Wii. But it would probably be blocked with a firmware update so......
I can just see fighting a Rayquaza on wifi...... XD

It's BY Action Replay, and it's an SD card specified for Wii, but could a system update make it not work? (there's no way it could have Brawl cheats on it, I saw one at Wal*Mart lol)
Action Replays can be updated. It has no codes on it now, but you can insert the codes into AR when Brawl cheats do come out. They also cannot create a system update to block it, because the AR reads and acts as the game itself. This is why AR (Action Replay) is so popular.

Action Replay does not work on the Wii. Even if they do find a way for it to work, Nintendo will just find another way to block it. Also, certain Wii games will automatically update your Wii as well. I think Brawl will as well.

Yeah, just like they couldn't block the Gamecube Action Replay. In fact, even newer Gamecubes don't run the European Action Replay.

Problem is, for the AR to boot the game, one needs to boot the AR first. If Nintendo blocks that (in the case of the GC AR, by saying it can't read the disc), Action Replay can't 'read and act as the game itself'.

it's so obvious that they are going to be a replay action mode! DBZ BT3 had one and SSBB should have one!!....
It's already been confirmed that there will be video recording... But this isn't about that.

I don't think hackers will be much of a problem. Especially with wins and losses not being recorded.

Newer games wont play without software updates as far as I know.

They will ask you to update right after you start the game.

Theres gonna be alot more honest gamers, who actually want to play for real rather than gay action replayers online

Don't worry about it too much, its not going to "RUIN" anything.

Even if it does you always have smash boards to find people to play against.

Nintendo blocked Action Replay on the Wii. If someone hacks the Wii some other way then the next time they try to udate their Wii Nintendo will lock it up so the person cant play/use the Wii at all.

At least I think that's what it said............
