Thanks to the ANU Anime and Gaming society, we have been able to arrange a booking for the ZEAL venue. Melville Hall will be the location of this event. An examination hall at the ANU. Take a look at some of the ANU AGS' content below!

Melville hall will be the location in the ANU where ZEAL takes place. The following map pinpoints the exact location of this venue.
Introducing the ZEAL Circuit! 6 tournaments from various Australian states have been coordinated with in order to deliver a series of events that will help players make it to ZEAL this summer!
The top placing players in Smash 4, Melee, and Project M will receive seeding points for ZEAL. On top of that, the highest eligible placing player in a select event at most qualifiers will receive free venue fee as well as a travel stipend that will help that player make their way to ZEAL. The amount of the stipend depends on the location of the qualifier.
The list of qualifiers include:
Canberra Colosseum 10 [ACT]
Smash City 2 [NSW]
Play Wharehouse 8 [QLD]
TBA [SA]
Couchwarriors November Ranking Battle [VIC]
Project M Singles [WA]
*More qualifiers will be announced in the near future*
NSW
Driving with a carpool of players is probably the most cost efficient method. If you're travelling independently, Greyhound or Murrays busses travel from Sydney to Canberra in about 3.5 hours.
VIC
Driving in a carpool is still the most efficient method but if you may not be up for an 8 hour drive, there are vLine busses and trains that can do the steering for you!
Rest of Australia/Flying
Take a look at Cheapo, Skyscanner, or Webjet to compare flights and get the cheapest option for you!
Traditionally smashers have been able to make it to events largely due to being in the care of other smashers that are able to house them. With that being said, in order to help our fellow smashers make it to the countries capital, housing is in the process of being arranged! Here's what we have in store:
Housing compensation for housees
(people that are providing housing in Canberra)
In order to show appreciation and to help encourage Canberran's to house, for every person that you are able to house that has registered (either online or at the door and has paid venue fee and is competing at ZEAL) you will be eligible to receive $5 off of your venue fee. That being said, the more people you house, the more of a refund you get off venue fee. The maximum refund is $20 (pre-reg rate).
All you need to do is let SummonerAU know that you are able to house, as well as how many people you are able to house and he will do the matchmaking for you. Please keep in mind that housing is needed for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday overnight (12-14 of December) so only people that can house for this duration will receive the refund. Furthermore only established housees will receive a refund as we need to keep an eye on who is going where.
Additionally, you will still be required to pay the entire venue fee upfront and will receive the refund at ZEAL. More information on that will be up shortly.
Housing information for housers
(people that are in need of housing in Canberra)
Just let summoner know that you are in need of housing and we can do our best to arrange something for you
How to establish yourself as a housee/where to ask for housing
Please contact SummonerAU or Thomas Upfold on either Smashboards or Facebook as he will be in charge of establishing who can house, and who needs housing. Please use the following links to contact him

What if housing is full?
In the event that housing is full, we will do what we can to get people into a nearby hostel. The one that we are looking at is the YHA which is relatively close to the ANU. Due to their nightly rates, we will so what we can to help lessen the bill by paying a portion of the nightly rate for a limited amount of people that are in need of a place to stay. For more information on the YHA Canberra, please visit their website

With ZEAL being a week away, it's time to establish some setups for the event. There is a variety of equipment that is needed in order to smoothly run this event and the demand for each range of equipment is also different as I already have some of the necessary resources. For ZEAL we will be looking into the following equipment:
High demand
- Gamecube's/Wii's with PAL Melee
- Modded Wii's with Project M v3.5
- Wii U's with Smash 4
- Wii U Gamecube adapters
Moderate demand
- CRT TVs
- LCD TVs
This is how you can let us know what you can bring
Please contact SummonerAU or Thomas Upfold on either Smashboards or Facebook as he will be in charge of keeping track of the setup count for ZEAL. Please use the following links to contact him

Also
If you are able to lend us your equipment, we would like to have it with us at the venue from setup on Saturday, the 13th of December to tear down on Sunday the 14th of December. More info on the exact times will be up when the schedule is released. That being said, he equipment will be in the venue overnight, however the ZEAL staff will be the first and last ones out of the venue. While we can not guarantee that nothing will go missing, nor can we take responsibility for missing equipment, we are ready to implement multiple strategies to minimise the chance of such an unfortunate event.
