Capital Lan is Canberra's new BYOC LAN. The 1st event was on November and smash will be present at the second one!

Featured games include:

5v5 Counter Strike:GO (PC) – Pending numbers

@FractalRevive Since October last year I've been hosting tournaments in Canberra on a monthly basis for multiple smash games (so far Brawl, Melee, and PM). A carpool from Sydney comes down to reach some of our tournaments so maybe next time you can make it down with some of them! . Speaking of which...

Hey, I've just recently seen the smash documentary and been getting pretty into smash tournaments and stuff maybe about a month or so before that.
I am considering going to this tournament since I live reasonably close, however I would like to know roughly how many people go to these things around Canberra. Is it more of a smaller group of people or has the scene grown to where it can be somewhat crowded at this point?

While I have been following SC2 for a few years now and mostly got into smash since I'm a big team liquid fan. I honestly am a little nervous about rocking up by myself and potentially feeling a little like an outsider.

I hadn't played Melee for years and never did the tournament thing despite probably sinking hundreds of hours into the game... but with SSB4 out I'm getting back into Smash. Excellent, have joined the group. Don't think I'll make ZEAL but I think I'll try and make one of the weekly meets sometime soon and see how badly my online play has prepared me.

Currently I am cranky because I've been unable to source a gamecube controller adaptor. Silly me assumed they'd be available at launch and now everywhere including Nintendo Australia Customer Service are sold out.

Ah yes, the shortage affected quite a few people. Looks like either pre-ordering the bundle or getting the equipment online is the way to go. That being said the meets and tournaments allow us to come together with our resources to enjoy the game, and through that in the last week we were able to enjoy 8 player smash with 2 adapters .

So hopefully that gives you something to look forward to!

As for Smash 4, a Power Ranking will be formed for that after the next wave of smash tourneys (so in 4 months/after May) in order to gain more results to pull from. Results will be tallied from all of the Wii U tourneys (hence from ZEAL onward). If there are any changes on this plan, notice will be given when appropriate!

We finally have some new ACT Power Rankings for Project M as it's been about a year since the last one came out. The scene has grown significantly since the start of the ANU Super Smash Brothers Club and we've been hosting weekly meets and tournaments every three weeks at ANU.
