What's a game you hate but everyone else loves?

For me, it's not a game but a company. Platinum Games.
-I dislike Bayonetta (the character, not the game)
-I hate how Nier: Automata tries to have a super serious story but with constant panty shots. It's like watching porn for the story. I'm sure the game is fine gameplay wise and the design is cool but that's it for me.
-They release constant mediocre licensed games on every system BUT Nintendo, which makes me think they have some sort of bias towards Nintendo.
-A lot of their games are the same hack n' slash combo oriented game. Sure that's they're main thing but Capcom is known as the king of Fighting Games but you don't see them do ONLY fighting games even in their early years.
-I hate how Hydeki Kamiya acts. Some say it's humorous, I say it's immature and unprofessional.

But if you like Platinum Games that's fine, this is not about bashing anyone who likes Platinum Games (since this is a website about Smash and not "they who shall not be named") but more about the games or companies you hate but everyone loves.

I hope you don't mind me inquiring about the Akuma avatar as well as Akuma being in your username.
Akuma is also playable in games such as the Capcom Vs. series, X-Men: Children of the Atom, and Tekken 7. He doesn't have to be a Street Fighter fan to like Akuma.

This will probably be rather controversial.

Overwatch. Now, I'll get this outta the way right now: I've never actually played this game, but I've seen enough of it to understand it. Because of that, I don't actually hate it, but I do think it's extremely overrated, especially considering that it's a multiplayer only game and doesn't offer anything else outside of that. I get why people like it so much, but personally, I would need more than just multiplayer to consider buying it.

Don't get me wrong: it looks like a really good game, but it's definitely not "game of the year" material, in my opinion.

True that, the only things I like about that game are Mei-Ling and D.Va since they're two of my favorite video game characters. :)

Any MOBA, any online card game, dating sims, if it falls in one of those categories, I immediately hate it. I guess those aren't specific games, but you can apply that to a lot of stuff. I just do not like those formats of play, I do not find them enjoyable (from a player perspective). Card games, I'm a fan of. Online card games, I find ridiculous and stupid. You can package it in literally any other way, and card games are the cheapest to produce by far because of how simple the art assets involved are.

To The Moon

I don't really hate it, but man is this game overrated. I heard nothing but praise for this supposed masterpiece, so I decided to pick it up. The sad story was ruined mainly because of the obnoxious scientist's that would make cringey jokes every 5 seconds ("HULK SMASH" hahaha modern day references XD). Also the game had a few plot holes of making the game overly dramatic for no reason. I'd give the game a 7/10 at best.

Donkey Kong 64

Fun at first but gets really repetitive. It's basically a collect-a-thon with a ton of unneeded backtracking. By the time I got to the water world I almost gave up since you are basically doing the same thing over and over again.

League of legends, pretty much all shooters aside from overwatch, GTA, FIFA, 2K, and five nights at Freddy's

Although opinions on it have died down over the years, Sonic Adventure 2 is a game that I find to be overrated and one that I don't like.
There are three gameplay styles and two of them have massive problems; the mech levels have you control this very clunky machine and the treasure levels go on for so long because of how big the levels are and the radar goes off one at a time (though, I do like Cosmic Wall and Pumpkin Hill). I would say I would like a third of the game, but I would be lying to myself if I did. The Sonic and Shadow levels are the best ones, but not all of them are winners, Crazy Gadget and Final Chase come to mind.
It's a very bad game and I don't understand why people say it's the best Sonic game. It's not.

I feel the same way. I didn't make it far in DK64, only on the first level.
What made me give up so early was because these levels are huge and there is a lot to collect... and you basically have to do this 5 times over. Now I love exploration in video games, but I didn't want to explore these areas 5 times... it would get boring.

The Call of Duty games. It's not that I don't like them (I can tell they're great games), they're just overrated. Also the Grand Theft Auto games for uncomfortable reasons.

@Xeno610

Make that three of us for the same reasons y'all said about DK64. I stopped like at the third level in the game and I never went back to it since.

Nothing in particular wrong with that, everyone is entitled to their opinion and Overwatch has a massive amount of Hype surrounding it despite problems (I.E. Competitive matchmakings forced 50/50s) so you can definitely argue for either side that its overhyped.

How likely is it I would be stoned to death if I said Super Smash Bros?
