Amiibo (Japanese: アミーボ Hepburn: Amībo, officially stylized as amiibo; plural: Amiibo) is Nintendo's wireless communications and storage protocol, for use between compatible toys-to-life figurines, and the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch gaming platforms. It was launched in November 2014 in the form of system software updates and a series of Amiibo-enabled figurines. These figurines are similar in form and functionality to that of the Skylanders and Disney Infinity series. The platform was preannounced to potentially accommodate any form of figurine, specifically including general plans for future card games. These figurines use near field communication (NFC) to interact with supported video game software, potentially allowing data to be transferred in and out of games and across multiple platforms.

Amiibo can be used directly with the Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and New Nintendo 3DS consoles by using built-in NFC readers. In addition, the rest of the 3DS hardware line can use an official NFC adapter. By September 2016, Nintendo reported that 39 million Amiibo had been sold, along with over 30 million Amiibo cards.

Why amiibo as a fighter?

Super Smash Bros has always been representing his accessories in the form of a fighter or as an unexpected character such as Wii Fit Trainer which also represents the Wii Balance Board accessory, so it would not really be weird to see an amiibo figure as a character, no?

amiibo had a great success in the market and had a lot of popularity, there being even multiple news about the amiibo figures, it would be strange to see a figure fight without movement, but knowing Sakurai he might be able to make a moveset for an amiibo figure.

Palettes

For starters, I think that the main figure that could be your main palette is the Mario figure of Super Mario collection, since always usually represent the figures amiibo with that figure and obviously, Mario is Nintendo's mascot, maybe also his palettes They are from different Nintendo characters, but I think it could be like this:

- Mario (Super Mario Collection)
- Mario (Super Smash Bros Collection)
- Classic Mario (Mario Maker Collection)
- Mario Modern (Mario Maker Collection)
- Mario (Mario Odissey Collection)
- Silver Mario (Super Mario Collection)
- Gold Mario (Super Mario Collection)
- ???

Icon

Stage

Like R.O.B. This character would not have any scenario, but maybe if we had to give him one, it could be from the game "Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge".

Scrapping the bottom of the barrel?

What makes amiibo Mario any different from Mario?

I placed Mario of Super Mario Collection as a character because he is the main figure they present with the amiibo cast, they even showed that amiibo for the first time (with a brown base instead of red) before showing up at E3.

But it could be even another character that represents amiibo as a palette or anything.

R.o.b. was a toy that only moved the arms and put a complete moveset, the same can happen with a figure amiibo as for example that when a hit on the ground with a light effect as the ads of the figure, etc. ..

I believe that if we have another representative of an accessory, it will surely be amiibo.

How would amiibo (literally any character) be any different from the same (literally any character) that is already playable in Smash?

Difference between this and R.O.B is that R.O.B. is actually...well, a unique looking character and its own thing(and even had cameos in multiple games, and a playable appearance in Mario Kart DS). The whole point of amiibo is to be basically a figure of an existing character, so...why not just use the existing character? Honestly does seem like a pretty big waste.

And finally, who really would it appeal to? Same thing with R.O.B is he was an accessory of old that some people may have memories of, with amiibo the main appeal is the character in the amiibo, it's not that they are amiibos thats the selling point. Someone who is a fan of the Mario amiibo would probably be satisfied just with having Mario in the game...

It would be like the figure, with its base and without movement, could move with small jumps, it would be similar to Sandbag of Super Smash Flash 2 some movements.

I did not have time to make a moveset, but soon I will try to give a clear idea of how I could attack.

This is just another playable Mario. If there were any amiibo only characters sure but this is just having a character fight by not moving.
