Smash Cadet
Hey Guys,
Long time, no post. Wow. I honestly forgot I had an account on here, until I tried to sign up again, and it reminded me I already have an account on the e-mail I tried to sign up with. I doubt anyone remembers me, so I will re-introduce myself now.
Hello! My name is Stephanie, and like many of you here, I am a big fan of the Smash Brothers series (and Nintendo games in general). I also love to draw, and have a very anime-esque style because I grew up drawing the characters from my favourite video games off of the back of old skool Nintendo manuals. (Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros., Arkistas Ring) Not Suprisingly, as I got older this led me to eventually start selling drawing comissions and my own independant press comic at anime and gaming conventions. From there I've branched off into directing interactive themed shows for smaller scale cons held in hotels, where it is possible to keep a fairly captive audience, so that we can do things like this to amuse con goers.
Now, What does any of this have to do with Smash Brothers General Discussion? Well, for Realmscon 2007 (In Corpus Christi, TX) I did a Carmen Sandiego Scavanger Hunt/Interactive Show that was a big enough hit with the con goers that the con chair approached me on Sunday that weekend and said "We want you back next year. So, If you know what you are doing for your event next year you can announce it at closing." and I did. I announced the interactive show/event/game/theme for 2008 would be BRAWL.
So, I decided to come ask those who love and know the Smash Brother Series best. (That's you guys) What are the "must have"s if you were to attend an event with a Smash Brothers BRAWL theme? What characters absoloutely MUST appear to make the show good? (Is there a character you are dying to see cosplayed/acted out because you've yet to see a good version of it anywhere?) What Items? What stages? Any Ideas of things to put in the Interactive Game? (EX: I'm thinking of actually finding a way to create a "Break the Targets" mini-game someone cosplaying Star Fox will host so convention goers can play to get bonus points for prizes) No Idea is too crazy. If you can dream it, there is a strong possibility I can find a way to make it happen.
