Yeah, Ssonic! That's still how we do!

Wonder how this'll turn out... TL banned the first round, and all.

Props to Z'zgashi for coming up with such a creative tourney idea. This uncertainty about which characters and stages will be allowed each round certainly puts a new thrill to the game. :D

Also... are we going to stage strike the first match of each set? Since there are only 2 neutrals available (and I'm assuming we are going to be required to play the first match of the set on a neutral), how do you want us to determine which neutral we should play on if both opponents strike different neutrals? (i.e. of the 2 neutrals of Lylat Cruise and Battlefield allowed for Round 1, Player A strikes Lylat while Player B strikes Battlefield)

Maybe you should un-ban (made-up words ftw, lol) one of the other neutrals so that an odd number of neutrals will be available for the stage-striking process. *wink wink nudge nudge* ;P

Hmm good point. I think then that (since the flip is final) if there are only 2 or less neutrals, you can only stage strike counter-picks, therefore the flip is still dominant and it doesn't screw with normal play

Sorry, but I'm a little confused on this. :U

I think I understand what you said about banning counterpicks, but it still doesn't answer my question of how you want us to determine which neutral we should play on for the first game. (i.e. Player A is an adamant advocate of Lylat while Player B is an equally stubborn advocate of Battlefield)

Negotiating with your opponent is always a possible solution, but I thought having a third neutral might be safer.

How about a vote from all the tourney participants on whether they think they want a third neutral? (And if yes, which one should have its ban lifted?)

Then again, you are the TO, Z'zgashi, so if you don't want to lift the ban from one of the neutrals, it's totally your call. Either way, this tourney is going to be amazing. Period. :)

In that case, I'd just say set it on random between the two stages

Problem solved. Thanks!

(And sorry for the excessive questioning... I just wanted to avoid any potential conflicts during the stage picking process :p)

Er... a few questions:

1) When is the deadline for the matches?
2) What does "double elimination" mean?
3) Say that in one set, Player A uses Marth and Player B uses Sheik for Game 1. If Player A loses Game 1, is only Player A allowed to switch characters or are both Player A and B allowed to switch characters for Game 2?

If someone could help me out with these questions, it would be very much appreciated. :)

Being sarcastic and pointing out the obvious.

1) It seems like Gashi hasnt made a deadline yet. or i dont see one
2) double elimination means u have to lose twice like if u lose once u go to the losers bracket. if u lose again to someone in the losers bracket your out of the tournament
3) unless gashi statted some special rule i believe both players are allowed to switch characters

1) The deadline is that they must be posted at the begining of each Monday. If you have to do it a little late just say so and I will most likely be pretty linient. Round 1 deadline is the by the end of the 7th. I put it in the rules and such so its easier to understand now and there wont be any more confusion, thanks for pointing that out.

2)

Exactly what jimmy said, thanks for that, couldn't have said it better myself! :D

3) Both are able to switch at any time, as long as the character chosen is legal.
