8 Player Match Strategies

So basically, nobody ever talks about this, but if you're in a scenario where you're playing an 8 player battle, not only does it stink to be you but it might be good if you at least had an idea of what is good and what isn't for 8 player battles since you might be extremely used to 1v1s. So, who's good? How should you play?
