I would really like to see us using different tier labels this time around.

There is no 'F tier" in this game. There isn't even a D tier, really.

I dunno, I feel like on a match-by-match basis it probably feels like everyone is so strong they can take it even when the odds are against them. But odds begin to stack up, and there are definitely plenty of characters we don't see breaking the molds of top 32, top 16, top 8 on a regular basis.

Does that mean we don't have a D tier? I'd argue not, but it's up to you. To me it's just useful to have enough separations to show different characters probably belong in (perhaps just slightly) different levels of viability along with one another.

IDK I'm in the boat of don't fix what ain't broken, if only because finding the correct terminology is difficult and that we could spend just as long on organization as voting. It's hard to really say anything regardless until we see just how large the mathmatical divisions between each character there is; it might be better to start up a post release analysis thread or have the community at large weigh in.

Most of our voters provided lists with 7-8 tiers/groups, we have 9 tiers here.
Data could go either way for whether we have a split between S and A tier (Group score vs Weighted Group). We could have a bigger B tier ('high' is split by weighted score) and bump down 3 characters in C to 'top' of middle (reflecting group score).

The Top/High/Mid/Low/Bot were devised by the range of group scores (9.88 - 1.72) split equally into five. You would notice the tiers are mostly a reflection of 10-9, 9-8, etc of group score, however we bumped 3 (20th to 22nd) up as they were the only outliers produced from the 5 way split. We merged the bottom tier as well.

There are a couple characters in this game who are actually trash. Its just a very small number, 5, 10 absolute tops

I also totally forgot to move Lucas up my tier list by like quite a bit. Woops.

Oh oops, I got super busy and missed our deadline =/ Smashcon weeks were hella hectic for me.

I feel like Roy is significantly better than what his placing is on the official list (especially with Ryo's use of nair 1 to fish for kill conversions), but I suppose that discussion should be done down the line when more info is seen and we're discussing the next tier list.
