Nintendo’s latest Direct, their last hurrah for the original Nintendo Switch, just aired yesterday. So let’s take a look at what was shown here!
Starting off the Direct is the Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, which added a new character for Dragon Quest II. The game is slated to release in 2025.
Later in the Direct, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was shown once again. Upon finding herself on the plant Viewros, Samus is bestowed with strange psychic powers, which can be used to operate mechanisms and guide her shots. The trailer also ended with Samus donning a brand-new red suit.
Nintendo also announced a new feature coming to the Switch in late April: Virtual Game Cards. With Virtual Game Cards, two systems can digitally eject and load games from one system to another. You can lend Virtual Game Cards to family member accounts (one game per account) for up to 14 days, after which they’ll still have its save data for when they borrow again or purchase the game. Both local wireless and internet connection are required for lending games from one system to the other.
Nintendo also announced a new smartphone app called Nintendo Today! for daily Nintendo News. The app was launched shortly after the Direct aired.
