2GGC Civil War Moves to Esports Arena in Santa Ana, CA

2GGaming recently announced that their upcoming Championship Circuit event, 2GGC Civil War, is moving to the Esports Arena! Located in Santa Ana, CA, the Esports Arena was already the home of this month's 2GGC: Genesis Saga. This event was highly successful, so when a scheduling conflict emerged with the previously-announced Las Vegas venue, the move was a natural choice.

2GGC Civil War focuses exclusively on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and features a $30,000 bonus prize pool. In addition to the normal Singles and Doubles formats, it will also feature a Team Zero vs. Team Ally crew battle for $10,000. With such high stakes and a unique special event, it will surely be an experience to remember. You can watch the most recent trailer here:

Be sure to keep up with 2GG for more announcements related to their Championship Series. Also, stay tuned to Smashboards for more coverage of 2GGC Civil War!

I've got no issue with this move. Would it have been great if it was being held in Las Vegas? Sure. But Esports Arena is just as awesome, if not better. Esports Arena announced they'd be having a street closure for space purposes (which is pretty freaking cool if you ask me) and made sure to specify the importance that they'd make Civil War a Smash experience.

I can't wait.
