Who do you think will win the election in 2012 to become president of the U.S.?

I think Romney will win. I think most of the independents will vote for Romney because he isn't as conservative as all the republican candidates, and they will for sure not vote for Obama if things don't get much better by 2012. If Romney takes most of the independent votes, he automatically will win.

Is there any way I can add a poll to this?

IT"S ONLY HALF WAY 2011, WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

Also, damn right you're a racist if you don't vote for Obama.

He's the bringer of unity between all men by being half black, half muslim, quarter inuit, quarter not yet born because nobody is able to find his birth certificate and let's not forget the 1/128th Russian (hey mic :p)

Haha, that made me chuckle a bit. :awesome:

It's interesting that Rick Perry is running, he's been the governor of Texas for quite a while,I just don't see Sarah Palin winning or even running for it though, hopefully Obama will rub it on her face AGAIN!

Im from Israel, not Finland. If you knew geography well enough, you would know that Oslo is not in Finland so you would be able to tell that it was a joke.

I do not agree with you.
When the economy and unemployment rates are bad, the current president is blamed. Right now, both of those are very bad so Obama does not have a good chance of winning. The only way Obama can win is if he speaks very well to Americans, that's his talent.

Even if the world ends in 2012, which it will, it'll happen after the election.

Also Herman Cain doesn't like to read and isn't black enough so he won't win.

If Romney wins the nomination, he'll be running against a black man and will therefore be a racist and racists do not win elections in the mother****in Younighted Staits of Murrica.

Obama will not lose.
Why will Obama not lose?

How is Herman Cain not black enough? He has darker skin and a deeper voice than Obama, and Obama is half white!

The GOP has been a mess since the Tea Party schism. The Tea Party would rather vote third party or not at all than support a candidate they don't agree with. The Democrats have no major issue like this.

The best chance the GOP has is picking a candidate that will appeal to both the GOP and the Tea Party, and as far as I am aware, that doesn't exist.

And @Solid: I cannot tell if you are joking, but there is no greater chance the Earth will end next year than any other year.

I think Ron Paul has the best chance against Obama. People may be opposed to his "radical" beliefs (lol the Constitution), but he has the most consistent track record, and walks the talk. Getting the GOP nomination is going to be the most difficult part for him, but I think he appeals to members of both parties.

Yeah, Obama's got this. I thought Daniels might have had a shot, but he's not running, so I think it's pretty clear. The economy and jobs are getting better, albeit slowly, and he's pulling troops from Afghanistan, which is a popular choice, despite Osama's death not really changing the situation there.

What do you guys think of Ron Paul?

edit: semi ninja'd by sizzle
He is probably the only candidate I actually can say I agree with, and that means I agree with more than 50% of his policy. The problem is in 2008 he was blacklisted by Fox News after he started winning straw poll after straw poll. GOP will not use him ever because while he does represent a good bit of their beliefs, he also is against congressional raises.

I voted in that election for him, as did my wife, and her vote literally did not count. That was the only and last time I plan to vote.

Unless there's a woman running, I'm voting for the black guy
People like you shouldn't be allowed to vote. Your supposed to vote for who is best for the country. You'r not supposed to vote by sex or skin color.

Btw, One woman is already running, and Sarah Palin could be a second women. And there are 2 black guys running.

I wondered why I had the urge to read this thread. :p

Either way, it's the country where I'd quite like to be...

Sorry CK, but I just can't grasp the logic of 'my guy didn't win, so my vote didn't count, the system is useless'

As an outsider, Obama just seems to be the clear good choice. All the rest don't seem to have any great ideas, whereas Obama's doing a pretty good job with the rapidly sinking garbage barge he was left captain of. Sure, it's not a cruise liner now, but at least it's not sunk to the bottom and exploded.

EDIT: BlueZelda, you might as well count Palin. It's pretty darn obvious she intends to run, don't know who she thinks she's fooling.

The Republicans are actively trying to destroy the economy because they know the electorate will place the blame on Obama. I hope they fail. I think they succeed.

If you don't want people thinking you're from Finland, don't say that you're from Finland. Easy.

Also, its a helluvalot more complex than the current president being blamed for things being bad. Obama will be able ti win by scaring people into thinking the right will take away their benefits.

Because that's not what happeend: http://cheney.pblog.org/2011/02/19/ron-paul-fraud-diebold-vote-machines-steal-2008-primaries/

He later sued the Louisiana GOP for this (along with a few other unethical things they did).

Wow what a clever joke.

Did you know there is also a town in the US called Oslo? People could've easily thought there might be one in Finland as well.

I think you're completely mistaken if you believe the Bush Administration is the cause of the problems President Obama faces. Obama has not changed the things like he campaigned on, but rather continued the things that were started by Bush. He has increased troops in Afghanistan, increased war spending, started air attacks in Libya, etc. He has signed into law extensions of the Patriot Act, increased the security of airports to unnecessary levels, and more.

I could probably go on and on, but to say that Bush is the cause of all his problems is silly. I think a lot of the USA's problems were started a long time ago and have been slowly snowballing to levels never thought to happen. I don't think Obama has the foresight to solve the problems, and is only perpetuating this snowball effect.

I'm unsure of what the future holds, but I think America will likely go through a massive financial crisis even more than the ongoing one if major steps aren't taken to stop our rampant debt. Ron Paul has been talking of these things for years now, and I think he has what it takes to try and get the country on the right track. His platform is likely the most acceptable to both sides, that's why I feel he has the best shot.

Seriously though, if a woman such as Sarah Palin presents bad ideas and has shown in it the past, would you vote for her over Obama just because she's a female??

I'm sorry but I highly disagree with that, people shouldn't vote based on gender, that's sexism, honestly, consider what a candidate has to offer and look whether their campaign is convincing enough, don't just look at a person because looks aren't what they seem.
